Yosemite Gateway Art Center — Attraction in Oakhurst

This place was nothing short of amazing. We noticed it driving up to Yosemite and thought to stop by on the way back from the park. We unfortunately came about 20 minutes before closing and just wanted to take a look around quickly so that we would not keep them from leaving on time. Juliette and I forget the other man's name unfortunately we're amazing staff and very knowledgeable on the artwork that they have. YGAC is a stunning collection of works from artists that not only show how the nature of the area can inspire art, but how local artists can build community together. They have multiple galleries with different types of media throughout. Kathy, one of the curators, treated each of our guests with individual care & helped them ship works of art back to their homes. We had the pleasure of watching another local artist paint a scene from the nearby Bass Lake, and she generously engaged in conversation with our curious group. Overall, this is a must see spot outside Yosemite for anyone who appreciates art & wants to support local artists....

What a delightful place. Once a strip mall, it is now a lovely place for showcasing art.
