The rooms were nice for the most part, but the tub had some big long dark hairs on the ledge and an oily substance simmered on the water the first time we filled the bath. We washed it down and it was fine after that. Water stayed nice and hot. The room was clean other than the thing with the tub and some strings on the towels but that was probably from the laundry. Place was pretty empty and quiet. My biggest issue with the place was it advertises free breakfast and that’s why we chose this hotel, we would have spent a few extra bucks for a different hotel if we knew the “breakfast” was so terrible. Sorry not trying to be rude or anything but bread and PB&j packets shouldn’t be able to be considered a “breakfast”…I walked in and the bread was in a container on the counter, they had peanut butter and jelly packets along with butter packets and some Raisin Bran cereal in a self serving container but no milk in the mini fridge, no yogurt nothing like that. They had a couple packets of oatmeal and hot chocolate packets and some apples. I would have totally been fine with just the pb&j but I took one bite and had to spit it out. Not sure if it was the jelly or the bread but it was so gross. Also the yellow juice drink horrible, I don’t think they clean it on a regular basis. So if your looking for just a place to lay your head for the night great place but the pillows deflate, litterally you can hear them leaking air when you lay on them so make sure to ask for a few extra. If your hoping to have breakfast included that is worth your while go over to the south gate or best western they are literally right next to this one and I’ve stayed at most of these hotels in this town and this was definitely not the best, but not the worst either. I do have to say the staff was ok tho, they were all...
Read moreThis was literally my worst experience in a hotel ever. I was there for just under two weeks for a work trip and as a woman traveling alone there were two things I found completely unacceptable..1) I had my husband send me more work clothes, which were clearly addressed to me and they opened the package 2) the privacy sign was ignored twice and my room was entered. These things to me are not okay when traveling alone. Although there were many problems.. others included not being cleaned properly, their idea of "breakfast" is what many better hotels would not even mention as breakfast (coffee, tea, I guess juice, apples, and toast). I heard others also echo my sentiments about this being breakfast..Room was not very clean and whole hotel looks in dire need of a good renovation and deep cleaning. No elevator or bellman carts, even though they are a four floor hotel, which was a huge pain with two weeks of work clothes etc....Keys repeatedly stopped working, requiring me to go down to the floor level to remake my room key. Air conditioning was so weak, even up as far as it would go, I woke up sweating every night. I got out of the shower once to see a lizard on the bath mate, when I complained after it was scarred under the bed and owner came in and helped me rip the room apart, he not only made me insist that I get a different room, he also made personal comments about my personal belongings. After each complaint there was never a "I'm sorry, what can I do to make your stay more comfortable?" Just excuses and attitude. It made my work trip so much harder than it needed to be, not having a safe comfortable place to come back to each day after a hard day of work. Oakhurst was pretty enjoyable, but I will not be staying here the...
Read moreIf I could replan my trip I would choose a different place to stay than here. If you do end up going, avoid room 212 at all costs. It’s the first room on the second floor.
I was overcharged way more than what Google had showing. I was expecting to pay no more than $120 but ended up paying close to $200. You’d think that for $200 a night, it’ll have basic functioning necessities, however it wasn’t the case with my stay.
The toilet became clogged within the first hour of being there and I had called requesting to change the room, however, the dude said that he’d come up to fix the issue as they plunged it that had pretty much no effect. The next time it was used, it became clogged again. With the experience of someone else coming into your room to fix an issue that shouldn’t be one to begin with was an inconvenience that I didn’t want to go through again.
Beds were comfortable for the most part but were very squeaky when my wife and I had our moments.
The shower was decent, however, it needed a deeper cleaning. The shower head was dripping a bit due to a leak but it’s not my water bill so I couldn’t care less.
There was pretty much parking everywhere so that is always a positive.
Overall, I would recommend you to bring your money elsewhere for a better experience. The tip envelope that they leave in the room is an insult for such a...
