Remember Them — Attraction in Oakland

Informative park which has sculptures of famous peace makers and humanitarians. There are also inspirational quotes from the likes of Mother Teresa, Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr etc. It is mainly a place for reflection and a conversation/ thought starter. I wish there was a bit more detail about some of the features personalities though, as I wasn’t familiar with all of them. There’s also plaque with a nice poem on it entitled...

As a park, it has nice seating and all that. The large sculptures of various historic figures is like a combo of Mount Rushmore and a touching exhibit of past civil rights personalities. Someone went through a history book and smooshed a bunch of people into some sculptures. I think that the work is a bit literal and lacking imagination but hey,...

I spend quite a bit of time here, it is beautiful and peaceful. The statuary is very interesting, it is a tribute to 9/11, and is quite skillful. There is a fragment of 9/11 inside of the statuary, a piece of one of the fallen buildings. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, there are no...
