Clockwise Escape Room Oakland — Attraction in Oakland

I went here with my kids and husband, and I was very satisfied with the experience. The first escape room my family and I have ever done was Escape Oakland, and Clockwise is connected to it, but it was definitely a step-up--the production and plot and game host was much better.

We had Vanilla as our game host, and he was very nice and helpful. He gave us very good clues when we needed them, which is very important. We had about 3 more clues and puzzles left when the time ran out, but he gave us an extra 5 minutes! It was very kind of him, and we ended up escaping.

We did Hidden Temple, and you could easily tell how thought out the plot and dynamic was. There were a lot of pieces and things that were important, which elevated the experience.

My family has done A LOT of escape rooms, and it's hard to find a good one with useful clues, helpful hosts, thought-out plots, AND have a fabulous production value, but this satisfied us greatly and vastly exceeded our expectations.

I'm very excited to come here again--we were so happy and pleased with the room.

We just finished the candy escape room - family of 4 - 2 parents with 2 adult children - my request for a fun bonding experience for our family! SUPER FUN! We previously experienced the shipwreck escape room at Christmas with extended family about 8 people! I think 6 - 8 people would be the optimal number because there are so many different puzzles to solve! Our expert guide, Dex was great at giving us clues but only if the whole group agreed to receive a clue - great rule! This escape room was a little more challenging than shipwreck but I think that’s because we had a larger group before to solve the puzzles. We loved all the colorful props and all the puzzles! it was fun to have a smelling component - just a suggestion - maybe need to refill the scent bottles for a stronger scent. Also the background music was a little loud to hear the clues from Dex when requested. I really like clockwise and highly recommend them! They are new so everything is super clean and functional, unlike some other escape rooms where things don’t work or are kinda worn down. We did shipwreck yesterday and our game master, Oxford, was super nice and helpful! I really like the staff here!

Shipwreck is their easiest one. We were a group of 5 but I think we could have solved it with a group of 3. I liked the puzzles and the premise of that one.

We’ve also done the Hidden Template with a group of 6. That one was more challenging and a bit bigger so 6 felt like a good number for that room. I thought that room was really cool! The design was unique.

I will come back to do the Candy one. That one is their hardest. The other two were great, so I am sure that that one...
