Update. I spoke with Jen a few weeks back. She was amazing. We talked about the situation . As they said "Make it whole", they have. Once we go back, this upcoming week, I'll update my review again. Thank you Jen. 🤩 So Saturday July 15th 2023 I brought my 2 and 1/2-year-old daughter in for the free skating class session and the 1:00 session to follow. The guy that gave us the skates was really helpful when he saw how she was so determined but the skates we had on her were just too slick he was like put the toddler ones on she'll do better. That was awesome I thanked him and told him that she was only two and a half and he said hey I can do some one-on-one with her if I need to I said that sounds great. At 12:45 p.m. the learning session was over We waited the 15 minutes for the 1:00 p.m. start time and between 15 and 20 minutes of it starting someone came across the intercom and said that y'all needed everybody to go to the right direction. I get that for safety reasons but I also had a two and a half year old who's never been skating who was having so much fun but she was skating the wrong way. I tried my best to keep her from running into anybody I did try to stay in the middle of the rink so I wouldn't be in the way and just made sure she was within reach of me. I mean it was her first time but once that came across the intercom I took her off the skating floor I took her skates off and we left so there was $30 just thrown out the window for that because I paid for three people I don't think I'll be back. it's a family environment you would think that there would be understanding of a child being 2 and 1/2 and not understanding the importance of skating the same direction. I could get it if she was 8 9 10 years old but she's not. I grew up at the only skating rink in Norman which is now closed and I just thought that this would be such a great experience for her she really really really really had fun and enjoyed herself but the experience from an adult view, we left. There was no way I was going to be able to get her to go in the right direction they're just wasn't and I tried but there wasn't a way to make her do it so take in consideration when you take a toddler to the...
Read moreOrdered parts, when the parts came in and didn't seem to be correct I followed up. Emailed in response several times, no response. Then weeks later I get an email asking for the very basic info I had already provided. No response for my RMA request. Debating a charge back.
It's not even a lot of money, just a disappointing lack of concern. Thankfully I was able to complete these skates with another source.
Update #1 attached screenshot of emails *no one knows about, apparently.
Update #2 The lack of understanding continues, I didn’t receive what I ordered, it’s the entire reason I contacted after I got the parts. The parts didn’t fit, which was the reason for the first email (with pictures)
I didn’t need assistance ordering parts, I needed assistance getting the correct parts I can’t exchange them as such, as you can see in the email chain I sold the skates and finished them with another source. If at literally any point someone would have read my emails with the intent to understand, or tried to actually follow up I wouldn’t have been compelled to leave this review. I’m leaving this up because even the responses here highlight the level of support people should...
Read moreI haven't skated in forever. And the last time I did, I broke my elbow. (April 2024) I came in today to check on my skates and figure out the issue. Turns out, my bearings were the generic, off the warehouse floor type that even while oiled up, give no spin. Shawn/Shaun (I feel awful cause I even asked for the spelling and it's slipped my mind, long hair with glasses 😊) was an absolute delight and friendly employee who helped me navigate the bearings process. Shawn was kind, generous with time, and answered all of my questions with no reservations. (The rest of the staff were also kind and funny as we worked through the bearings on my skates.) I now have new bearings and a better hold on skating (even though I'll need the helping tool to get started again-its been years and I need to get a better balance over time). I will definitely recommend this location to others, and I plan to return as often as I can for skate sessions. Thank you, Shawn and others, for your kindness and empathy ❤️
I've posted the before and after footage. For reference, the red bearings are...
