My friend Kevin asked me to join him for breakfast not long ago. He took me to Neighbors Cafe. As it was my first visit, I looked around with a critical eye and was happy to see everywhere i looked was clean and everything seemed to be in its proper place. The second thing I noticed was we were greeted within 3 seconds of entering the establishment. Our waitress spoke to us with a friendly voice and a big smile and practiced eye, invited us to choose any open table that we preferred. When Kevin pointed out a table I nodded, and without having to say a word our waitress walked over and quickly removed a chair so I could pull my wheelchair up to the table. She offered us menus and took our drink orders then walked away. I looked around and thought the place looked a little empty at 8-ish on a Saturday morning and said so. Kevin laughed and said the rush had already been in and out. We made our orders a few minutes later and I found myself enjoying a very good cup of coffee! That cup of coffee was only the 1st of many home runs I discovered at Neighbors Cafe that morning. I had pork chops and eggs, and was very satisfied with both. I noted how thick the pork chops were cut. Each item we both ordered was perfect. The food was brought to the table and everything was at the appropriate temperature: nothing too hot to burn the mouth but everything warm enough to be found totally acceptable by the palate. The Coffee Cup was kept full with awfully good coffee, and both of our breakfast-ware was removed seconds after we were finished dining. I complimented both the owner (doubling as the cook) and the eveready competent waitress on each other honed skills. Prices for both meals were moderate considering the great food, service, and quiet atmosphere. Each one of these things (along with the cleanliness of the diner) has left a lasting impression on me and I must recommend this establishment to anybody that is looking for the same pleasant all-around experience we did. 5 STARS in...
Read moreI don't leave reviews, but after the constant issues I have had with this restaurant I feel obligated to at least say something here. I normally order take out from this restaurant but can say with experience that sitting down at this restaurant isn't much better. I have sat in this restaurant with my family and have had our drink order taken and spent 20 minutes before we ever saw our waitress again (place was empty). I have had multiple orders missing items or just entirely wrong even after checking twice with the person over the phone that they had gotten my order correct. The final straw was today whenever I ordered 4 Belgian waffles I guess they had raised their price and now they are $5 a piece wow! Fine I've already ordered I will pay the high price. Within 20 minutes of me ordering I have the waffles in hand and at home. First thing I noticed is that at there was only one waffle that read pecan I had ordered two, ok so order isn't right, that's fine at least they are all waffles. Well after opening the boxes and dispersing the waffles come to find out that they are not waffles but are some type of rubbery substance that resemble the shape of a waffle I am done never am going here again have gone there for years but I'm fed up with the poor service...
Read moreFood not bad but my service was non-existent. Had to ask for 2nd cup of coffee from another server after waiting and waiting for mine to come around. She went and told my server who then brought coffee to me. Then, never got the bill. Waited (quite awhile) again and that same 2nd server (who was taking care of her tables) saw me with money in hand and took it to the register. My server brought my change and asked at that time if I needed anything else. She NEVER...not one time... just made the rounds of her tables to take care of her customers. If it weren’t for the 2nd server no one would have any service at all. I always tip well and I always compliment and let management know when they have a great server. I never leave bad reviews...but this just was not a good...
