Olympia Computer — Attraction in Olympia

First of all , the owner of Olympia Computer is very rude telling me Your computer is totally disgusting when we looked at it “ - Nice First words, huh - from a guy that wants Customers ??!!?? I had brought my MAC into Olympia Computer because of a liquid spill. Despite Erik’s lack of politeness, I was told that Michael, (who seemed very stressed, but seemed to know about computers) would be doing the job of transferring Data from my MAC to my Time Machine. This process took him forever to do . I also had him transfer very small amount of Data from 2 ‘lemon’ MAC’s that I thought could replace my damaged MAC, but had to be returned). When I called to talk to Michael about picking up my computer, I was told he no longer worked there nor did Chelsea , the Receptionist, who was always there !! The strange thingss is that I had just talked to Michael the day before and he said he would call me back tomorrow. When I called and wa told that he and Chelsea had mysteriously disappeared, I became worried that Michael had even done the Data transfers for which I was charged nearly $600.00 !

I was so worried about my Data, photos, Documents,etc. not being transferred that I talked to Riley (who seemed to have replaced Michael) and asked him to run my Data from my MAC to an external hard drive- and paid them another $46.76 to make sure that I had it.

After I picked up my computer, my husband and I took it immediately over to ‘Rapid Repair’ on Pacific (where I wished with all my heat - that I had brought it there first, instead of Olympia Computer !). Logan, so is part owner there) took my liquid spilled MAC - replaced all the parts needed and had it back to me in running order in 3 weeks ! - not the 2 months that Olympia Computer had messed around with it and also messed around with (and stalled) us .

When I wrote to Olympia Computer about the close to $600.00 billed to me for questionable (if any) work done - all I received back is an email from ‘Kassandra’ saying that they’d be glad to refund the $46.76 if I’d like to return the Hard Drive back to them.

I wrote that’s all you’re going to do ? ..And WHY would I , in God’s name, return this back to you- with all my Data on it ??!!?? That’s how this place - Olympia Computer, works ..high prices, incredibly slow work (and questionable work !), and then asking me to return something I had to pay for-(to insure my Data was there) back to them- with my personal Data on it !! Are they Crazy ??

I recently took my laptop in for a deep cleaning based on an intrusion to my system that I experienced. I thoroughly scanned my laptop prior to taking it in just to be safe. Upon arrival the lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, gave me a quote for what I explained to her was the problem. Before I even got home, I received a call from them saying that there were not viruses present on my laptop. The quote that I was given verbally was $50. They asked if they could remove a couple of apps, to which I said fine. Two days later when I picked up my system the invoice was $150. I asked why, and it was explained to me, however I did not approve the extra work. I paid the total amount. Olympia Computer has fine customer service, but their work, in my opinion, is expensive. Their headquarters in downtown Olympia may be the reason for their high prices. Large retail space. Oh well. Also, upon returning home and hooking up my laptop, I notice that there was no cleaning of the keyboard. I guess I would have expected that for the price I paid. According to their website, they have or service numerous locations around Olympia. I would give them a good recommendation, but the next time I may need computer service, I will likely look elsewhere. I hope that next service will not be required, as the other inquiries I made about this repair/maintenance, took those businesses 24-48...

Oly is fortunate to have Olympia Computer. EXCELLENT service, friendly & knowledgable staff, & prices that are too low for the quality of their work! They obviously put service before money. They spent quite a bit of (unpaid) time listening to my story & chatting about options before diving in. And they finished so quickly I could've gotten whiplash. This will be my GO-TO tech place as long as they're here!.. These guys literally saved my biz. TJ was AMAZING! He not only figured out the fix, he did it very quickly. I can't express how happy it made me. TJ wasn't even wearing a cape when he rescued me. (The longer story... My computer with 30+ yrs of biz emails, records, website backups, etc failed & 4thD couldn't figure out how to use my backups to restore the files I needed to run my business.) Oly Computers' service quality & vibe is precisely what Oly needs now that the other place has gone so far downhill & similar businesses haven't ever gotten up the hill... It's no exaggeration to say TJ saved my life. I didn't see any way to continue running my biz without recovering my data. If I had to go without income (since I didn't have the necessary data to run my biz), I had pretty grim thoughts. ETERNAL THANKS TO YOU ALL AT...
