I had to pick something up for a friend at Oakview mall and was delayed. I needed to stop at Petsmart and get to my mom's hospital to drop off her clean laundry before they put her to bed. But I have a resue cat who is peeing outside the box and I needed the supplies from Petsmart, namely Cat Attract, a litter additive that draws the cat to using the box. I walked through Petsmart's doors at 8:51pm with a list of 4 things I needed. I realized that they closed at 9 so I was trying to hurry. I found all the products except for the Cat Attract. I wandered around in the cat area looking for it but had no luck. Of course, there was NO ONE back there to help me. Finally, I walked all the way back to the front of the store and found two employees talking to each other. I said to the young female, "Honey, I know you're closing up but I really need this product. Can you help me find it?" She said, "Sure!" As we walked back to the cat area I apologized profusely for being there right at close. I explained my situation and said I was trying everything and anything to be able to keep this rescue cat. She applauded my efforts and assured me it was fine that I was there around closing time. In fact, she said, "Anyone willing to go to these lengths to keep an animal can take all the time she needs." We had a hard time finding the product but finally did. We rushed up to the registers where I had left my cart with the other 3 items I needed. When we got there there were a group if employees standing there by the door. The one who I assume was "in charge" said, "You're not up here to check out, are you? We closed at 9 and I already shut down the registers. You must have come in after we were already closed, huh?" I said back, "No, I came in at 8:51, obviously before the store closed because the door was open. I was back in the cat section looking for this product and no one was back there to help me. So I came up and got this young lady right here to help me. My cart has been sitting here the whole time we were back there." He replied, "Well, we looked down all the aisles and didn't see you, so you must have gotten in here after that. Besides there is nothing I can do. The registers are closed." Then, all of the 4 or 5 employees, including him, but not including the lovely, and by now, embarrassed, female employee, who had just helped me and was standing next to me, stared at me like I had 6 heads. Instead of pointing out to the idiot who seemed to be "in charge" that one of the idiots standing next to him was standing and talking with the female employee that I asked for help and SAW the female employee and myself walk back to find the product I needed, and instead of also pointing out, again, I would not have gotten into the store after 9, I put down the product in my hands and walked to the door. Then I looked at all if them while they stood there staring at me and said, "Can I get out, please." There seemed to be a delay so I manually slid the doors open myself and walked to my car pissed,as hell. Upon entering my vehicle, I looked at my phone to check the time....it was 9:05. So, what that means is that at the time I arrived at the registers, it could not have been more than 9:03, tops. I deduced this since it took at least 2 minutes for the "in charge " guy to argue with me about whether anyone saw me, and his female employee, in the aisles before close, for him to twice accuse me of sneaking in after 9, for all of the employees to stare at me awkwardly while I tried to exit the store, and for me to get to my car. So, At 3 MINUTES PAST CLOSE I was not able to purchase my 4 items, even though from, at least, 8:59 I was in the company of one of the employees while another knew I was in the store and having a hard time finding a product. I will be calling the store manager in...
Read moreDid grooming here for two dogs a week ago. Our dogs have gotten groomed before and have never had issues, except the smaller one has separation anxiety. When they trimmed their nails, on our Australian Shepard mix, the one with separation issues, they were able to do all four paws. However, they were not done well and it didn't look like they finished. When doing nails on our English Pointer, a 60 pound lap dog who is the sweetest dog you would ever meet, they had issues. The first groomer, smaller female, could not handle him by himself, he wasn't liking the buffing noise, so she asked a male to help. It turns out the male ended up holding our dog down to do the nails and continued to do the action that was scaring him. So our dog ended up biting at him, and they stopped on the third paw. They never called us and did not inform us of the incident. When we got home we noticed one paw was never touched and the other three were worse than they were before. So when I went in to ask why we paid for crappy service that didn't get finish, they proceeded to tell me how they held down a 65 dog who was scared and when they cut one nail too short, he retaliated, and bit the male who was holding him down. Needless to say, we got our money back after speaking with a manager for the nails that were not completed. Yes, the manager tried to fix it but there is nothing that can fix our dog being held down. We will never go back to any pet smart because of this and I hope others can learn from this experience. Tip: Petco in the L street market...
Read moreMy boyfriend & I bought our very first Red Eared Slider (turtle) from this store. We noticed something on his shell, looked it up thought it was normal shedding that was a week after we got him. After the second week his first black spot appeared under the spot where he was "shedding" they have a two week guarantee. It turned out to be shell rot. We didn't want to return Timmy to them, why would we? They're the ones who sold us the sick turtle. We took him to the vet, shell rot takes about NINE months to get as bad as it is now. We have had him for almost two months. The spots are all over his shell. We are currently treating him, no thanks to Pet Smart. He sits in a corner, watching his brother Petey swim around being the happiest turtle while he barely gets any water, has to have ointment rubbed on him, & shots now. All because they clearly don't know how to care for their reptiles. Needless to say I am disgusted with the way they care for them. I will be letting more people know about this, I will not be going back to any Pet Smart. Thanks for the sick turtle, he is getting better, it will take 6 months or longer but thanks to the wonderful vet, & our treatments he will be...
