I had the opportunity last weekend to finally go to "The Red Lobsters" after many years of hesitation... I say that because of a few reasons so Ill try and keep my review brief and to the point..
I was born 34 years ago in Florida. My parents are both red lobsters and they're the best parents a lobster like me could ask for. My fathers name is Clawdius and my mother is Clawde. My father worked as an auto mechanic and my mother sold antiques online. When I was older, I decided I wanted to take the plunge and go to college. My parents both thought it wasn't a great idea and thought it was a clam... I MEAN SCAM! They eventually realized it was what I truly wanted and they were both on board. I searched online for human disguises for several months and even developed a breathing system I can wear under my human suit to make sure I could breathe above water with no issues. It was finally happening. I told my parents I loved them and I started walking out of the ocean to start this new chapter of my life. Several years passed by and I could not get a hold of my parents. I sent letters....emails...with no response. I was missing them immensely and wondered why I wasn't able to reach them. As I was driving home from class one day, I noticed a restaurant called "The Red Lobsters". I felt like it was calling to me and I decided to go in. Of course I was nervous in my human suit but I decided there's no better place to hide than in plain sight. As I walked in, the waitress didn't seem to notice anything unusual about me thankfully. I told her "One table for one normal human please."
My world came crashing down when I looked to the tank on my right... I couldn't believe what I was seeing....IT WAS MY MOM AND DAD!!! I ran over to the tank and screamed as loud as I could "MOM! DAD! ITS ME YOUR SON! IM YOUR SON! WHY ARE THERE RUBBER BANDS ON YOUR CLAWS?" I looked at the waitress for help but she looked at me like I was crazy and said I needed to leave immediately. "WHY ARE THERE RUBBER BANDS ON THEIR CLAWS?!", I yelled at the top of my lungs. The waitress was calling her manager and I realized she wouldn't help me at all. I turned back to my parents and screamed "WHY ARE YOU HERE? WHY ARE YOU HEREEEEE!??!" I stuck my hands into the tank, lifted them up and stuffed them into my jacket, but in doing so, one of my human hand gloves came off....
Oh no...
My lobster claw was exposed! I tried to hide it from the waitress but it was too late. "I KNEW IT!" she said. I had to get out of there as soon as I could or they would put ALL of us in the tank! I started running and crashed through the front doors (which had lobsters for door handles?...what WAS this place?!) I got us all in the car and drove as fast as I could to the ocean. I did it. I saved my mom and dad and we lived...
Read moreserver selecting her own tip amount then management, not being able to fix the issue
One of the most upsetting experiences sever and management wise I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. The food was good not the complaints here. The service started out poor and then dramatically declined as the night went on. from the first second we sat down I felt as if we were forgotten about. A simple job that all servers can follow is remember to put silverware on the table. Also waited for drink for a large amount of time. After already waiting just to be able to order the drinks. Before are drinks came we were ordering our entrées and I find that as another huge mistake on our servers part. Our server seemed as if she was working 100 miles an hour. By talking over me as I was trying to order and just had a very disrespectful demeanor the whole night. Until I complained to the management. That brings me to the biggest issue of the entire nights our server selected her own amount for her tip. That to me is the most upsetting and disgusting thing any server has ever done to me while I’ve been out. And after talking to a manager the only answer I got was that’s because the amount has already been selected that’s why I cannot change the amount for the tip. Being forcefully set at a tip amount after a bad service is one thing. But not being helpful and respectful as a manager is another thing that’s just disappointing to me.
This was single handed the worst service I have had in my life at any restaurant. And I am very serious I will not be returning to the store. I feel robbed and disrespected.
I wish customer service was held to a higher standard in this establishment . And I’m sorry for the bad training to all of the servers with the management for not setting a better example for how to treat an...
Read moreGroup of 4 celebrating a birthday on a Saturday night. We averaged $30 per person. 2 ordered the unlimited shrimp. One ordered maple chicken and the last was lobster tacos. No major complaints about the food, when it was delivered. Although the baked potato was delivered to a different table and then took 10 minutes to be replaced. My Bahama Mama was disappointing. I don't know if the bartender messed it up or if it sat waiting to be delivered, but it was half melted and hard to reblend. But the major frustration and reason I will never be to this particular restaurant again is we waited for over an hour after we finished eating before we were finally allowed to settle the bill. The waitress touched base with us 4 different times telling us that she was trying to split it and was having difficulty. Leaving all 4 of us with the impression we were getting paper receipts. Only to be given the tabletop kiosk to pay. When we stopped to express our frustration and concerns with the manger about feeling trapped waiting and the disappointment at watching a different table have their celebration acknowledged but ours ignored, we were brushed off and told that there was nothing she could or would do about it. I am a fan of Red Lobster but I will never go to this...
