I love the new building and location. It's so easy to get into and out of the parking lot, which was a big issue for older customers. The parking lot is much bigger, too, which is great. There's more room to move around, but I think the larger parking lot means more traffic in the store. If you're pushing a cart, increased traffic and the store layout can make maneuvering a hassle.
The prices are amazing. Usually I can find produce for considerably less here than I can in any grocery store (e.g. last weekend there was a $2 difference per pound in jalapenos between Parkway and Walmart). The produce itself ranges from great to so-so. Most of the time, the produce is nice unless it's getting out of season. I can also find produce here that's hard to find elsewhere (like baby bok choy). They also sell local honey, locally made jams, jelly, canned produce (e.g. pickled items), dried fruit, nuts, and old-fashioned candy.
The customer service, depending on the employee also varies. There's one person my husband refuses to go to because she acts like she's angry to be helping us. But the rest of the employees are great, even though they stay pretty busy now.
You can use debit/credit cards and cash here. When it's very busy, a line for cash only will open up, so if you want a quick check out, carrying cash can help. Otherwise, even waiting in long lines doesn't take long, even though almost everything has to be weighed for price.
I go to Parkway every weekend, and I plan to continue to purchase my produce there as long as they maintain their...
Read moreThis is a wonderful indoor farmer's market with the best prices on fresh produce. I try to stop here on the way going back to Atlanta, since the prices beat any store in Atlanta.
Not a big store or very small either. Some of the fruit and vegetables come from local and regional farmers. The have a wide selection to choose from, single items and bagged. There is a good selections of nuts and jams.
Some of my favorite things to get: Red table grapes with seeds! I can't find seeded grapes anywhere else. Nutritionally, eating fruit with seeds is best for the body. They have red globe grapes with seeds, too
Real chow-chow relish is in stock, which is a southern delicacy that my grandma from the country used to make when I was little. I never see this in regular grocery stores.
The juicing oranges are fresh and well...juicy, hence the name.
Sometimes a basket or buggy full of sale items is set to the side, full of things that need to be eaten right away.
The staff is nice and the store is always clean. They frequently have empty crates sitting outside that they give away.
The place is off the beaten path. I usually get there by taking a street route...
Read moreParkway Farmers Market is located/visible from the main road; you have to exit and drive a few blocks plus make several turns down some backstreets to get to it. The store has a good parking lot with plenty of room to get in and out. It has a well kept inviting appearance from the outside. When you walk in you can tell right away it is always clean and orderly by the overall appearance and the activity level of the staff. They are all busy working but look approachable if you need assistance. All the fruits and vegetables looked fresh and we're well stocked. They also had a large shelf with all types of canned jellies, pickles, relishes, etc. An extra bonus was they have the little wooden vegetable crates that they will give to their customers upon request. I used mine for planters in my garden. I lines them with pieces cotton fabric, filled them with dirt, and planted peas. My daughter wrote PEAS on the middle slat of each on and they look adorable- Thank You Parkway...
