Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Opelika

One word, Gloves!! Was running errands in the area yesterday (Fri 7/25) and decided to grab my elderly mom a bite at this Opelika location instead of waiting until we got back to Lanett. Poor fella was in there working alone and seem to be handling things until I realized he was super multitasking with no gloves on nor rinsing his hands. He went from what looked like making a pizza to coming up front to get my name for pickup & printing my receipt, then back to the cooler to grab a container of chicken putting it in I guess something to cook, and then to the oven to take my pizza out to box/cut. I believe he wiped his hands on a towel or his apron, but that's plain unsanitary. I feel for you holding down the fort all by your lonesome and having worked at both Domino's and Pizza Hut wish I could've just jumped in there to back you up, but come on dude gloves are a wonderful invention that cuts down on cross contamination and just overall nastiness. It only takes 2 seconds to rinse your hands real especially when handling raw chicken and food. I ordered the Cheesy Burger Pizza with Extra Sauce, but got a dry Pizza with hard ground beef. A waste of time and almost $16. This is my second time ordering from this location and sorry to say this one was highly disappointing. Still ended up having to come up with something else for dinner which sucked because Mama had been looking forward to this...

Placed an order for delivery at 5:15. It said it would be ready in 37-47 minutes. At 6:15 and still no delivery I tried calling the store and got a recording saying they were closed. There was nothing I could do at that point because I couldn’t find my order on my account and the email I received didn’t haven’t an option for a cancellation. Tried placing another order to see what would happen and it said my store was temporarily closed. Decided to give up and had to leave to go pick something else up for everyone. As I was on my way I got a text saying my pizza was on the way. While I was out getting something else the pizza was delivered at 7:15. TWO hours after I placed my order from a store that stated they were closed. How was I supposed to know my pizza was actually going to be delivered after finding out the place was “closed” I didn’t even touch the pizza because I had no idea if it had been sitting out for over an hour or not! Awful awful service. Covid has turned people into the laziest...

I usually order online and quickly in and out but this time I called in and My experience was horrible! My family and I eat at Papa Johns 2-3 times a month, I'm faithful Papa rewards member, however David which is also GM was very rude to me which made me not even comfortable to place my order over the phone all because I said "to go order" instead of "carry out" I told him I was going to complain and he said basically he would just have to apologize!......Authority ABUSED, I will not recommend using this location, he only apologized Bc I did called home office! Makes me wonder what other rules abandoned and abused while preparing our families food!?? I will make it my highest efforts that my friends and family as well as patients know about my experience! If you abuse your authority you will abuse the guidelines and your team to follow!! I take no risk when it comes to...
