The Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach is THE most stunning wedding venue on the Gulf Coast. I shopped around many other venues but the second I stepped on site at this art gallery along the water I knew it was the one. Meeting Katrina Anderson (the event coordinator) was like meeting my fairy godmother. She was so kind, friendly, helpful, professional, I could go on and on! During the entire wedding planning process Katrina was there to help with questions and concerns that arose. Even despite Covid-19 concerns and Hurricane Sally hitting the venue – Katrina was always SO positive and supportive. She provided a list of ROCKSTAR vendors that helped assemble the perfect team for our wedding day. The grounds at the Coastal Arts Center are immaculate, and inside is an eye-catching spiral staircase surrounded by beautiful local artwork and glass blown pieces. During and after our wedding, guests were raving about what a beautiful location the venue was! Our wedding turned out more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. I can’t even begin to put into words how thankful we are that we found the Coastal Arts Center. My husband and I just got married at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach, and it was the perfect place to have a wedding! We couldn’t have been happier with how everything went! From the stunning sunset views outside during the ceremony, to the beautiful indoor space for the reception- this venue had everything we wanted and more! The best part of having a wedding here is Katrina, the events manager. Being from out of town, I was initially worried a “destination” wedding would bring on additional stress. Katrina went above and beyond to make sure that was not the case for us. She started out by giving us a binder with vendors and resources. The binder saved us so much time and energy and provided us with the best of the best vendors! Throughout the whole process, Katrina was very quick to respond to our questions and concerns. On the day of our wedding, Katrina was there to make sure everything flowed flawlessly- all I had to do was show up! We had a great time learning about making glass art here in the Hot Shop. They gave a very informative presentation, showing how to make 3 different pieces (a paperweight, an ornament and a flower) and then one at a time, you can choose which you would like to make. The artists are very patient and give each person a very personal experience and they do not rush you at all. There are many colors to choose from when making your piece and there are lot of examples for inspiration.

When you are all finished, your pieces need to be placed in a kiln for a while, so you can't take your art home the same day, you will have to plan to come back to pick it up. I am not sure if they ship, but I am sure they would be more than happy to let you know if you give them a quick phone call.

I would definitely suggest trying this place out if you have some time and you are interested in the art of glass blowing. The group classes are currently Monday - Friday at 9am. Space is limited. They like to keep the classes small so everyone gets plenty of time and a bit of one on one.
