The Waterfront is very quiet and super pretty and serene. They were constructing a new dock when we visited so that was the only noise going on during the 3rd week of September 2022. We saw a dolphin and he hung out right in front of us and in our area for a very long time. We even saw him chasing a fish that was trying to jump out of the water to get away from him and we caught that on video. We had fun sitting and lightly swinging on the wood swing and eating our picnic lunch we packed. Our dog had fun playing in the water. We even met some locals and talked to them there. They gave us great advice on where to eat and travel to next. We cleaned up everything and left the area in pristine condition. No littering! That place is gorgeous! Let's keep...
Read moreThis area includes a well kept kid's playground with a toddler section along with "big" kid area so that everyone can enjoy themselves. It has a tire swing, sand pit, monkey bars, slides, and so much more. Its next to the first Baptist church on one side with the art center on the other. Farther back is the bay with a public peer leading out onto the waters. Here a family can fish or play in the gentle waves. The art center next door is a fun place to visit with interactive activities. Occasionally, they use the area to host festivals. Its a fun, free to visit area that has a lot of low cost activities for visitors or locals. This place also has public restrooms and shaded picnic areas for special events like birthdays or...
Read moreThis is a really cool park! I spent a couple hours with the kiddos and we had a blast. The playground equipment is really unique with interesting musical things, lots of slides, a crazy spinning rope thing, lots to climb on. It was clean, well maintained, and enclosed by a fence.
We "took a hike around" and found a small boardwalk by the bay. Looks like there is a public pier that is currently closed for repairs. And the arts center looks like a fun place to peruse if I didn't have the kids. They do have an open to the public Hot Shop that you can watch live glass blowing! We just missed them on their lunch break but I bet that would be an experience.
Plenty of picnic tables both in the open and under shelters....
