Eisenhower Park in Orange is one of my favorite spots, and for good reason. The park's got a lot of character with its history and layout, and honestly, it’s a solid gem for the area. It’s got a bit of an awkward parking situation, though. There are a few scattered spots in different parts of the neighborhood, and the main lot has no more than 10 spaces—most of which are taken by homeless folks and piles of trash, which is one of the downsides. Still, the park’s charm makes it worth the trouble.

The park's setup is pretty unique, with multiple elevations offering awesome views of the entire area, including the irrigation pond and stream. It’s actually a historic spot—it used to be an irrigation pond and reservoir back in the 1880s, and it’s fed by the Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company. Now, it’s a peaceful, interactive spot with rocks you can hop over or skip, making it perfect for exploring.

There’s a dog park down the street, which I hit up too when I’m in the area. The park is right off the freeway, and if you head over to the corner closer to Lincoln Avenue, you can get a great view of Orange, especially at sunset. It’s also home to a bunch of ducks and geese, so yeah, expect a fair bit of “Dookie” around, but that's just the deal when you have animals like that. I do think the city could clean up a little more often, though. They allow fishing here (catch and release), and although I used to come here as a kid feeding bread to the ducks, now I realize how bad that is for them. It's still nostalgic to see people do it, though.

It’s a pretty active place too—lots of people walking around, meditating, and hanging out. For a park that doubles as an irrigation pond and has such an interesting history, it’s definitely a good spot to hit up. If the parking situation and clean-up were better, it’d be perfect. But regardless, Eisenhower Park is one of those spots that really adds...

It's absolutely beautiful I took my mother there who I would have needed a wheelchair as compared to her walker to get her to the bathroom but will come more prepared next time so we sat in the parking lot and looked at everybody out in the park and we could see the ducks and the geese walking around. It was funny when the Mallards were walking towards us, it look like they had tuxes on. It was really really nice, and mom wants to go back. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. We were eating, puppy dog was saying hello to all the other puppy dogs, and then it was time to go. We will be back. Very nice park!! A lot of the parks are just flat and solid and this one is hilly with beautiful grass, thick grass, and it's got the fountain & the little birdies swimming in and around the pond. There are benches to sit on all over the place and some picnic tables. Definitely a nice place for an afternoon. Anytime of the day...

We absolutely love Eisenhower Park! Stumbled upon this area while grocery shopping near by and have been coming to this park almost weekly ever since. (My husband and I take our cats walking here every weekend - yep, we do that <3) Why we love it: 1. The park is nicely hidden away in the residential area yet close enough to the highway which makes it easy to access and low noise 2. Plenty of parking available - have never had issues finding parking 3. The park is always CLEAN and obviously taken care of 4. There are public restrooms, grills/picnic tables, and playgrounds available 5. Ducks, geese, and squirrels are super friendly and fun to watch 6. There is a lake on the far side of the park that is open for fishing - every weekend there a few individuals there. No shade though, so if you plan on fishing bring a hat/umbrella. The second parking lot is right next to the lake for easy access if you're only fishing and don't want to walk a long time with your gear. 7. Entire park has paved walkways so easy accessibly for wheelchairs & strollers

This medium sized park is a showcase of beautifully maintained landscapes and people tolerant wildlife! Weekdays are shared along regular exercise paths and areas for picnicking and quiet down time for those just passing thru. Weekends and holidays have had group gatherings along with packed parking lots and street parking. Everyday, children can play at the playgrounds and anglers may fish from the lake that borders Lincoln Bl. There’s two well kept restroom facilities for the public, simply functional, nothing glamorous. By the way, bird droppings may need to be avoided on walkways around the lake, in between daily cleanings.
