I am beyond FURIOUS after being completely robbed in broad daylight at Lotto Plaza Market today, and the way this was handled is nothing short of criminal negligence! On December 15, 2024, around 1:00 PM, my baby's Ralph Lauren hat was stolen right off his head while we were shopping, and the staff did NOTHING to help.
I was in the store, just picking up some vegetables, when I turned around and saw someone yank my baby’s hat off his head from his stroller and immediately run away. I couldn’t believe it—my child was robbed in the store, and when I rushed to the customer service desk to report the theft, all I asked was for them to check the surveillance footage to help catch the thief. I asked to speak to a manager but they just ignored me. I told them if they don't do anything i'd call 911, an Asian woman slowly approached me without identifying herself, asked me what happened and turned away and sit at the counter and completed ignored me. Later on the safety guard told me that she's the "customer service manager"
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. The store had a responsibility to assist me, but they just ignored me! They didn’t even care that my baby was targeted by a thief. This is outrageous and beyond negligent.
But it doesn’t stop there. I asked to speak to the manager, and when she arrived—a chubby Asian woman, who seemed like she had no interest in resolving the situation—she didn’t even acknowledge me. When I explained what had happened, she didn’t even blink. She simply turned around and sat down, completely ignoring me! How can a store manager be this callous? How can someone just dismiss a robbery like this, especially one involving a baby?
This is not just bad customer service—it is irresponsible, unsafe, and unprofessional to an unimaginable degree. A theft occurred in their store, and they did absolutely NOTHING about it. This place is clearly a dangerous environment, and I will NEVER step foot in this store again.
I will be filing complaints everywhere I can, because what happened today should NEVER happen to anyone. Lotto Plaza Market should be ashamed of how they treated me and my family. If you care about your safety, your property, or your children, do not go near this place.
ZERO STARS. Robbed in the store, ignored by management, and left completely vulnerable. DO...
Read moreThis market has become my new favorite place to shop at. With 3 kids to feed and a family of 5 in 2024, they have the best prices on vegetables and family sized meat prices. They offer a huge variety of Asian fruits and vegetables that you wouldn't find elsewhere else. They have fresh fish and seafood items on ice without it smelling like a fish market throughout the whole store. They have plants, a few non Asian grocery items, freshly made food and sushi you can grab and go, and there is also a food court inside. Tous les Jours has amazing and unique coffee flavors with a bakery. I had the beef bulgogi at the korean place in the food court and it was delicious.
When I'm looking for specific Asian ingredients to make specific dishes, this is my go to place to find it. This place is often busy and lots of non Asian people shop there too. I hope that they keep the prices low and will not start raising prices due to that. Anytime a cultural fad item becomes a trend, so do the prices.
Cons about Lotte Market - quality control. Carefully check your items on the shelf. I had bought a bag of cheese breadsticks and they were already expired. I went shopping again and happen to see the same item on the shelf still expired from months ago with the expiration date of November 4, 2023, and my date of writing/discovering this is Feb 18, 2024. A lot of the freezer items are freezer burnt with huge chunks of ice in the package. Seems as if items are not being rotated properly with first in, first out rule. As a former chef, I notice that the items they make daily and set out for the grab and go food are not properly set up in a hot box or warmer. They wrap all prepared food and set it out on a large table. Hot holding foods should be properly handled at a certain temperature within a max of 4 hours, or the items goes bad and can cause a person to go sick. They have several meat items like dumplings and sushi, just sitting out on a table under no heat lamp/box or not on ice with no time stamps on it.
Compared the Enson Market, another Asian grocery store also on Colonial drive - the Enson has a better and bigger variety of specialty drinks and...
Read moreLotte Plaza Market has a lot of Asian products but with an emphasis on Korean products. I do my bi-weekly grocery shopping here because they have the best fish selection. Before this market opened up, my grocery shopping day would last 6 hours hopping from one Asian market to another just to gather all the ingredients needed. I'm thankful for Lotte market here in Orlando. The best day to go grocery shopping is on Fridays when the fresh produce and fish shipments are in and stocked up for the weekend crowd.
The following are the highlights of Lotte market Fish selection: They have the best fish selection compared to all the Asian and Latin markets I have been to for whole fish. Bring a cooler. Korean snacks: My favorite Korean snack here is the Tiramisu flavored almonds and the Shine Musckat flavored almonds. Those are addicting! I like their snack aisle. Fresh seasonal fruit products: muscadine grapes, Fuyu/Hiyachi persimmons, lychees, longans, rambutans, Thai white guavas, mangos, durians, fresh jackfruit, sugarcane, pineapple, cherimoya, pomelo and other varieties of citrust fruits, etc. Vegetables & Herbs: The Asian vegetables and herbs are always fresh. Note: The only common Asian herb they do not sell so far is the Vietnamese coriander (rau râm). I have to go to the Vietnamese market to buy that. Asian food court: There's Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Thai, and Vietnamese restaurants and a tea shop in the food court here. Bakery, hair salon, Japanese massaging chair retail shop, accessory shop are inside the market. Live crawfish available during crawfish season! 5/11/25: I attempted my first DIY crawfish boil for my kids to make a kid-friendly version for them and they rated me 10 out of five stars saying it is the best crawfish ever! Lotte had all the ingredients I needed to make my little foodies satisfied.
