I was the buyer in the Jason Greene selling of his house. Our closing did take over a month longer than it was suppose to but we were pushing for a very quick closing. The main reason for the delay was that their was a cloud on the title. Unfortunately due to the way property lines are divided up in mid-town KC it took a great deal longer to figure out what was going on.

I was greatly appreciative of Rick Woodruff's commitment to me as the buyer. He told me that he wanted to make sure I was getting a clean and clear title and not walking into a bad situation. Though the delay was frustrating I was always appreciative of Rick's honesty, commitment to the person that was employed by him, his ethics and integrity.

The housing market in our country right now is radically different than it was before 2008 and I believe that my delay was not due to the mortgage lender but it was due to a number of things; real estate agents not knowing fully the laws, the cloud on the title, the title company, and the underwriter's. Underwriter's, no matter which mortgage company you work with don't have a commitment to the buyer They are working to follow the new laws that are in place because if they don't, it's their jobs on the line. I do think there needs to be a change with underwriter's lack of consideration for the buyer and seller, but that is not Metropolitan Mortgage's fault, that is...

This company couldn't close an open face sandwich. They have to be the WORST loan company I have ever dealt with. They take forever to do anything and will not give definite dates on closing. They have no idea about land in Kansas City and especially mid-town.

They keep asking for extension because they can't get the work done in a timely manner and they have no consideration for the parties involved and the other side of a home sale. Their underwriters have no concept of time or consideration for anyone.

Their underwriters appear to completely inexperienced in land, property boundaries, leases and easements. If you want you home to close on time, stay away from Metropolitan Mortgage Corporation If anyone recommends Metropolitan Mortgage Corporation... run......
