Today was the first time that my wife and I went to Bo Lings on 135th. I had gone once by myself but that was way back in the late 80s and I really do not remember that experience.
But, I can tell you this. Since my wife and I were married in 1986, we have been real fans of Chinese food anywhere we could find it, as long as the quality was good. However, lately I have overheard a few of my friends and coworkers talking about how good the food is at Bo Lings, so I was finally ready to go with my wife and give it a try.
The only word that comes to mind is "WOW"!! My wife and I both agreed we had never had Chinese food that good in our lives. I got the General Tso's Chicken and my wife got the Cashew Chicken. We also got an order of 6 crab rangoon, and they were amazing too. That was the most enjoyable and delicious meal we have experienced in a very long time.
Before we left I asked to speak to the manager, which for them is usually an "Oh No" moment. But I wanted her to know just how impressed we were with the entire experience. Not only was the food the best we ever had, but the staff was great too. I think during our visit there we had the chance to speak to at least four or five members of the staff that was there today.
We have long had a "Favorites" list and it has been a long time since we last added a new restaurant to that list, but we did today. And I would even go so far as to say that it is close to the top. We will definitely be going back again, and I hope very soon.
You guys were fantastic and you just won two more faithful customers for your restaurant. You...
Read moreI have eaten here before and food was always excellent. Christmas eve I called in 2 orders of Mu Shu chicken and a order of ginger/garlic shrimp, I was advised there will be a 2 hour wait and it will be ready at 8pm, ok I understand it's Christmas and your busy, cool, I'll make the drive back at 8. Made it back at 8, food was sitting on a rack, drive 35 min back to family and the ginger/garlic shrimp was not shrimp but was chicken instead, even receipt says shrimp. Both orders of Mu Shu went in the trash along with the ginger garlic chicken. The mu shu smelled rancid, no juice or liquid, had no color to it, tasted bland and just off, no chicken but looked like they added extra egg chuncks that looked like chicken and just not edible. $60+ Christmas eve dinner that we waited a few hours for, is in the trash. They're not open again until Wednesday and I'll be on the road by then. No Bo Lings for us this trip and don't think we'll be back. They used to have the best mu shu anywhere and when I travel back to KC I make sure to stop by and pick up a couple of orders, I will need to find somewhere else I guess. Very...
Read moreI'm not sure what others see in this place. I have tried twice to eat here with no luck. I ordered take out both time. Food not good and a lot of times not edible. Today for instance I got spring rolls, an almond boba tea and steamed buns. The buns were hard and not fluffy as steamed buns should be (same thing happened the first time I came here!) I did my best to fluff the up in the microwave as soon as I got home with no luck. The spring rolls were very messy rolled, the lettuce had mushy bad spots on it, the shrimp had such a strong off putting odor I was worried about eating them. The boba tea was the topper though, the boba was hard and needed to be soaked again so I had to wait a long time for this to happen. It didn't work though the drink was not good. It was watered down with hard boba and then a lot of tiny pieces of boba flakes all throughout. I guess that was the old dried up bits. Yikes. I would maybe try once more as a sit down customer but there are so many other places like Fortune...
