Hook's Landing — Attraction in Oxnard

Things I would want to know about the crew before going. Chris the lead crew member comes off very strong which can be interpreted as impatient, aggressive, and rude. Also I am not smoker but all the crew smoke throughout the boat. The cook was even smoking then flicked her cigarette into the ocean and went back to cooking. The biggest problem is they are all fishing themselves. Our friend's daughter had got her line caught on a rock while our friend caught a fish so she yelled for help several times but everyone was too busy fishing when helped finally arrived they said they couldn't help because it was not a rental fishing pole and didn't want to be responsible so she literally delt with both poles herself. Chris would have heard the commotion but he was too busy fishing or yelling for other crew members to do what task is right in front of him. Part of being a leader is taking responsibility and picking up the slack when needed. My favorite crew member was the kid with long hair. He was EXTREMELY kind I'd give him 5 stars he was fast to follow orders but also so personable. I watched him run up and down the boat tending what everyone needed as well as whatever Chris was requesting. It's clear the crew has experience on the water. If Chris remembers the crew is his team so if they succeed he succeeds. Maybe try more listening and less talking, smoking, and fishing this would easily be a 5 star rating. Hooks Landing Sport Fishing is either terribly managed or is simply scamming people when it suits them. Five of us booked a 3/4 day trip aboard to Coroloma with several months in advance, after a few weeks they cancelled our reservation because someone else wanted to rent the whole boat. They offered to reschedule us... fine... Ok, it's still a little over a month out thankfully since we booked well in advance. We found the only other weekend we all had free, made a reservation, booked our hotels and transportation only to get another call a few weeks before our trip informing me that they are cancelling our reservation AGAIN for the same reason they stated before. What's the point of a reservation if your company doesn't uphold it. Then they had the nerve to offer to reschedule us again as if they didn't screw us over twice. Stay away from this company, look for someone honest instead because the people here are either incompetent or are just malicious human beings straight up...

Have went deep sea fishing before with a different company and loved it! But decided to try a different location and definitely REGRETED IT!! First off the people clearly didn’t want to take us fishing because we went in and talked to them and they said they were full for multiple days, but not even 5 minutes later we called them and then they told us they were open for anytime and any day we would like to go fishing! Now that they have said we could go fishing at anytime we decided to go and talk to them in person again and once again we get told we can’t go but this time because there aren’t enough people to take the boat out!!
