We went for the corny and old school fun: kids, face painting, crafts, food trucks with MSG and bouncy blow up haunted houses. We really were excited for the yacht parade where they decorated the boats with Halloween lights and then had a boat race. But it was basically rich drunk people on their boats with purple lights screaming through the harbor. They didn't even circle back. Very sad display. Clearly the fun was being drunk in the boat so next year we will stay at home with our own whiskey and purple lights. But the harbor and park are lovely. Great little...
Read moreChannel Islands harbor is beautiful. My stomping grounds. You can get on a kayak or a boat low enough to get back under the bridge. It stops near Anaba sushi. Has a nice little dinghy dock to stop for food. Lots of selection on party boats for fishing. There's another nice dinghy dock by fisherman's sushi. There's a nice plaza of restaurants, live music. The harbor is roughly 12 miles from Anacapa Island which is a 30-45 minute boat ride or a nice day sail. It's not a ritzy high end harbor. We even saw a seal jump out of the bay onto the deck to take a nap in the sun. My Mother-in-Law used to live here so she wanted to show us around.
