You'd never guess the night I just had. I arrived back to the hotel room, set my belongings down and proceeded to the front desk to request an HDMI cord. Front desk assistant asked for what room, 105, I told her. I then asked about food options nearby and it being 10:00 it was mentioned that toppers closed soon but had good food. So I went to toppers and made it in time. Ordered to go and upon returning, there's a security guard exiting the room. Apparently no one was to be in that room, yet the key card worked not only to enter the room but the facility itself. (Stayed the night before w my siblings) i was walked back to the room to gather my stuff and then escorted back to the lobby. There, I was then explained to that the room had been checked out of and thus sold , so there was no way that I could be accommodated , although the price of the room was charged for a second night , I then mentioned when we left that the cleaning lady asked me if we were checking out and I said no but we were grabbing our stuff anyways.
What I don't appreciate is the fact that they acted as if they were going to accommodate me after all, I would just have to see if there was any cancellat ions first. So I'd have to wait. And patiently I did. At midnight I overheard the procedure on how when it came time to that the room would be released , then input as a comp, of course someone would need to cancel. Or not show up, there was talk of a large group, never saw one. Maybe two different people DID show up and pay for a room however. Even though it was told to me they were sold out. Now, if I'm waiting, in your lobby, with my luggage, 2 hours of sleep from the night before, and a funeral under my eyes, I might have expected at the very least to get an update. Then I got one, at 1:00 am, I was told that in a half hour he would know to begin pushing guests to the next days date, thus allowing me a room. No one entered the hotels grounds to stay. But not until 3 am did I grow restless and upset now that not even an update was given to me. I had told the staff that I had planned the next day to take the train back to Corona. I appreciate the gesture, and thank you again but I am writing to the corporate office. For being mislead . i was seeking a bed to sleep in. Mr. Nassetta and Mr Hughes , there are no managers present on weekends, none with any decision making power, and this is coming from a very helpful security guard named Melanie. Why is she letting me know at 4 am what the front desk has decided at 1 am. Staff WAS polite, but did not commit to the mission statement this company stands behind. The right thing to do would've been to tell me i would have to contact a manager for resolve immediately, but when they're available ON MONDAYmeanwhile I'm still in Ventura county with just enough to get home to riverside, once the trains get running. YES, I'm upset but the only consistency I saw was with the young lady who told me she felt awful, and that she'd have done things differently had she known. Everyone else, turned the other cheek, not in line with that mission statement. Lacking integrity and the right thing not done,...

BUT
I checked in with the Hilton app for room 328. 15 mins after check-in time I arrive and ask for a plastic key. I find my room has since been reassigned and I'm on the 1st floor. The digital key on the app still shows room 328. Imagine had I bypassed the lobby.... Very unprofessional. Yes I'm diamond, and no, this has never happened before.
Noisy. Loud people everywhere. Loud steps above my head.
2 towels of each kind. I'm here for 5 days, housekeeping is by request. How is that supposed to work?
Fantastic remodelled bathroom. Real tile in walk-in shower with curved sliding doors. Impressive! But no body wash in the bottle...
Mattress is great. Pillows are lumpy and hard. Usually there's are 2 different kinds of pillows. My bed has 4 lumpy pillows.
But what tops this is the amenities price card in my room for towels, TV and mattress, etc . A macabre joke, an insult, and illegal. It assumes we have an agreement that I will be paying for missing room items, but we never agreed, we never made an inventory. Very unprofessional... again... But in a deeper sense that card doesn't make me feel safe. And that's a much bigger issue...
This is my 30th stay at a Hilton this year. In 20 years a room was never reassigned, nor was their a price card. Hmmm 🤔
Update After 3 nights and a kind request to the front desk for more body wash and towels, they responded very positively and do a daily towel change. They even empty my trash. So awesome. Maybe I still feel a little like a business fish out of the water in a family oriented hotel, but different is good Changed my initial 2 star rating on the day I lost...
Read moreI am a Hilton diamond member, made my reservation early. Wasn't recognized as a diamond member at check-in, I let the hotel choose my room in the app. Big mistake, they put me between 2 families with young children with another family across the hall on the second floor. I was of the understanding that diamond members usually get recognized and I usually get the 3rd floor and at least appreciated for being a diamond member. I was told on checking in that all the parking in the back, close to the building was full. When I walked by there happened to be two diamond member spaces wide open that the desk clerk can see from the camera pointed right at them. When I asked for a room change, I was told the hotel was completely full. The next day after being up most of the night I came back to the office and asked if the room change was available and told no. As I got to my room, The Father of the loudest screaming children came out of the suite at the end of the hall. I complained of noise and the perpetrators got upgraded to a larger room. I was left in the same room and the other two families with kids were up until after midnight watching movies and being loud. No need to complain about it. They aren't going to do anything. Not a choice on my list to go to again when I come back to the...
