I've been taking my dogs there for 10 years. This Beach Park was unique in that the locals allowed alcohol to be consumed there, and your dogs to play off leash. Last night that all changed when a few curmudgeons decided to get the sheriff to enforce the Pinellas County leash law. To be honest there were people who would bring unruly dogs that were disturbing people who just wanted to watch the sunset. But for the most part this was a unique place to visit and enjoy the company of fellow pet owners. There is no reason to travel through rush-hour traffic when you can get a view of a beautiful sunset at the superior dog beach at Honeymoon Island or let your dog play with others off leash at Hammock Park. I've made a lot of good friends at Crystal Beach. It's a shame that a few curmudgeons and irresponsible dog owners have to ruin a nice thing. Thank God I did not purchase a home in...
