I bought a Seiko watch in 2017 and late in 2018 the watch stopped working. I brought it for repair and a month later they said it had to be sent back to Seiko which they took care of. Two months later they called and said to repair it would cost us $190. Afterwards I doubted my decision because new, the watch cost $260 (which I bought from BPJ). Because my wife bought it for me for my 60th birthday I elected to stay the course and get it fixed.
After four months i got my watch back and it dawned on me that perhaps there was a warranty on it. I feel ignorant that I didnât think about it beforehand but i wear watches, I donât sell them. I did check and it had a three year warranty however you must state it is a warranty claim prior to sending in for repair.
I did ask afterwards if BPJ could do anything and the answer was no it would come out of their back pockets and they werenât able to do this. In my opinion I didnât buy this from a Kohlâs or Boscovs and a jewelry store should know their business and be looking out for the customer. Simple questions like, âDid you buy this here, and when?â, should be standard procedure. The people there are nice and friendly. In fact after I dropped off my watch for repair one of the sales ladies saidâ yea I donât like the Seiko Solar watches, they break easily!!!â I wish she would give that advise BEFORE I bought the watch !
I contacted Seiko and they stuck with the company line âif you donât state its a warranty claim there is nothing we can doâ. Really good company, huh? I feel like it is a game off âSimon Saysâ. You would think standard procedure would be to check the serial number and that would indicate age of the watch.
At any rate my watch cost $450 for two years of service. I would have been better off buying from Amazon who has an excellent...
Read moreVery disappointed in Beverly Palm. They used to have an excellent reputation, but have definitely gone downhill. First, I brought my engagement ring there because the main diamond came out. They said they could rebuild the setting, replace the prongs and polish it. They also said it would take four weeks and quoted me a price of $650. Well, it took 7 weeks for it to be finished and when I got the ring, I saw that the setting was about HALF the height of the original. The woman said a lower setting may help with not banging the ring and loosening the prongs. That may be true, but they never told me they were going to lower the setting and I almost feel like they just cut the original prongs down and put the diamond back in. They never called me to ask if it was okay to lower the setting. They just did it. She saw how annoyed I was and said that they could raise the setting after the holidays. Then, I went to pay, and she tried to charged me $1089! I told her I was quoted $650 and she said it was not in writing on the receipt. I told her I was not paying the $1089 so she talked to the jeweler and I was told that next time, I should get the quote in writing. I told them that that was the employee's job to write that down, not mine! Needless to say, I would not recommend them any longer, nor will I return. Such a shame since they used to be...
Read moreI HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT BEVERLY PALM JEWELERS. The clasp on my gold chain needed repair, and because I work during the day, my 80 year old father took the chain to the store for me, and also picked it up when it was ready. As soon as I put it on... I knew that it was not my chain. It was sharp and cut into my skin. When I took it back and explained the situation, the man tried to explain to me that it was indeed my necklace... and that it was "sharper because he cleaned it". Ridiculous lie. I held my ground and told him that my necklace was 24 karat gold and was purchased in Europe. He insisted that the thin, lightweight necklace that he gave me was mine. He was quite patronizing and said he would order me a new necklace. Again... cheap and light. I keep thinking about what Beverly Palm Jewelers did with my beautiful, heavy, 24 karat gold chain. Moral of the story... ALWAYS TAKE PIX OF THE JEWELERY YOU HAND OVER TO BE FIXED. They saw an older man bring in the necklace and thought he would NEVER NOTICE if he didn't receive the original necklace back. I would NOT recommend having jewelry serviced at this store. I will never see my original chain again thanks to Beverly Palm and their...
