I wouldn't recommend against going here for a few things for convenience, despite this store's quality getting crippled by defective self checkout machines, nonexistent staff and expired groceries.
They serve ready-to-eat hot food (such as chicken, mozzarella sticks, etc) at their aptly named "Hoagie Shack". The quality of said food ranges from good to mediocre, depending on how long it has been sitting under the light. Keep in mind, whatever food you may intend to buy from this section may be marked as though it was cooked within the hour, but they generally are cooked many hours before this time. For instance, if a bag of chicken is marked as being cooked at 2 PM, it was most likely cooked 3 hours earlier, at 11 AM.
They do not always have the groceries I look for as it is a smaller store, however they generally have enough for, as said earlier, quicker, more minor trips involving lesser groceries.
One of the main issues with this store, however, is their tendency to not replace groceries that are past their sell-by date. I have bought several items that have been past their sell-by dates at this store by mistake, however more recently I bought a carton of coconut milk - big mistake. Upon getting home and preparing to pour the milk onto a large bowl of cereal (and after shaking vigorously) translucent fluid spilled out, just to be followed by a large clump of congealed, foul-smelling slime. After being disgusted by this, I checked the sell-by date on the milk, to see that said date was August 20th of 2017. On the day I experienced this, December 8th of 2017, the milk had been past it's sell-by date for many months - and coconut milk lasts a long time before being opened, generally 6 months or longer from my experience. This means that the coconut milk I'd bought had been sitting on the shelf for, most likely, nearly a year.
When shopping at this Weis, ALWAYS check the sell-by dates.
I would have given a generous 3 star rating if it weren't for the bad experiences of buying rotten, spoiled groceries on multiple occasions.
As far as staff go, they're generally friendly enough, but there aren't enough of them present to actually help out - especially with the defective self...
Read moreThis Weis Markets has given me a relaxing and peaceful shopping trip, the last few times I've been here in May/June 2022. There are several reasons why.
On the outside currently, you may not know what to expect. The W in Weis has fallen off the sign outside. But, enter this store, and it is refreshing and beautiful. I enjoy the 2000s, easy to read banners decor for the different departments. (See pictures I've added.) I feel the newer decor (Schoenersville Road etc.) isn't as clear.
I enjoy the layout of the Departments, and the variety of them as well. To the left of the store is Produce, Deli, Seafood, and Hot & Cold foods To Go. I often grab something to eat. Along the back is Meat and Dairy. And on the right is the tempting, Fresh Bakery.
This store is stocked, clean, and very well kept. I am very impressed with this store. One day, an Employee helped me look for a Soda I was looking for. He was so friendly, showed me where it would be, and talked for a few minutes with me. Extremely friendly and helpful!
The layout and banners are perfect, it's a clean store. Friendly staff. I wish this Weis was closer to me. This is a gem of a store, they're doing a really great job there. I enjoy coming here and shopping when I am on that side of...
Read moreI rarely can me here but do so when there are certain sales. The workers are nasty but the reason i am writing this is to let people know their ethics. I was last here about 2 weeks ago and they were having issues with their self service machines (credit card not processing) so you would have to transfer your transaction to another register. Thats fine. However when i came back today, the same thing happened. I called for help 4 times and was conpletely ignored by everyone ( i ononly picked up 2 items). I then when to a register. After i made my transaction i went and looked at the self service register i was at at these unethocal people simply shut off the help light and left the register open for the next sap to go through what i went through. Nasty people and nasty service is the best (and only) way to describe this...
