Heritage Park — Attraction in Palo Alto

We like this park and it's proximity to downtown PA. You can get some ice cream and walk here to the benches, or just enjoy sitting there looking at the green lawn. You may not want to bring children here to run or play after constantly seeing people bring their dogs here to run, pee, and poo. There are 'dogs must be on a leash' signs but we have witnessed owners letting their dogs run wild both in the park and on the block, without supervision, and not picking up after they do number 2. We like using this one as a quiet downtown break — it’s right by the library and good for little ones learning to walk. This is one of my favorite parks. It has a beautiful playground with swings, a sandbox, picnic tables, a young children playset, an older children playset, and a climbing rock. Outside the playground is a good-sized field where people bring dogs, play sports, and just generally relax.
