I was visiting the Panama City Beach area with a few friends for vacation, and we decided to hit up a few of the local card shops to look for some products that we may not have back in our home state of KY. When we arrived at Instant Replay, all of the workers seemed very welcoming and nice, until we went to look at some PokĆ©mon singles. I saw a certain card that I wanted, and was curious how the store went about their pricing, so I asked. I was told that the store went by TCGPlayer.comās pricing, which is a pretty standard practice. So I look up the cardās value on TCGPlayer, and they seemed to have it marked up considerably. Turns out, the price that they had on the card was the market price on a 1st Edition version of the same card. I calmly explained to who I assumed to be the owner of the card shop that a card very similar to the one I was interested in buying was being sold for about $115 less than what it was listed for. He continued to pull up the TCGPlayer website. He then showed me the pricing for a 1st edition version of the card, and stated that he was simply going by the āmarket priceā. My friend and I then explained to him that there was a considerable difference in the 1st edition and unlimited pricing. He then continued to refuse to admit his wrongful pricing, and explained to us that he had purchased the card at market value for a 1st edition card, and that he was only going to sell it for market value. This was VERY frustrating considering this was the first sight of this card I had ever seen in person, and I was willing to pay a fair price, but not $115 more than what the card was worth. I vacation in this area every year, as do many of my friends, and I can promise you that we will not be returning. After the whole incident happened, the worker/owner seemed to get very frustrated and became quite rude. We no longer felt welcome in their store at that time. Hate to say that I had to leave...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately, this business gets a 1 star review. I have actually considered opening my own shop bc this town desperately needs a good place for collectible cards.
The reasons for the low rating is strictly to their basketball selection and purchasing program. I have not shopped there for football or baseball.
As a customer I have bought many items from here including pokemon. But mainly I stick to basketball. While they hardly have any selection to choose from Iāve also caught them being dishonest in their inventory. They break cases open, and they donāt put them out together bc the case hit never comes and they havenāt sold to me by the case.
Additionally they will not purchase autos unless theyāre wemby or Caitlin Clark.
Theyāre just a lazy card shop not willing to take care of their customers which we see a lot of down here in Florida. If they had someone in there with ambition, theyād be able to sell a lot more but theyāre making enough money and they donāt care⦠which is totally fine. But with that type of business model comes the 1 star ratings.
Iāve spent 8k here this year⦠and I took in some full autograph cards and they wouldnāt even get me an offer. Known stars⦠so maybe the economy is turning for them. Idk. All I know is Iām pretty well connected with collectors in the area, and Iām gonna mention in my circles that I personally will not be back to this store and others can make their own decisions. But influence...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend and I went in March 19 to check it out. We drove all the way from the Pensacola area. The owner(s) are very friendly and took the time to go through a 2-row box of sports cards that my friend brought in. The gentleman pulled out a small handful and gave a very fair offer for store credit. They told us about upcoming events at the store. If I was closer to this location I'd definitely go. Nice selection of sealed wax and singles. Prices are competitive, yet fair. Will definitely be back when...
