It's the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign and if you're in town, well, you gotta get a pic with it.

My son and I walked down to it, even though you can drive, as there's a car park next to it. We joined the queue and watched what was going on.

There were two people offering to take your picture. One was at the front of the queue and he would take the pictures on your mobile phones for you and if you wanted to pay him something, it was entirely up to you! There were no complaints in the twenty-five minutes that we waited.

The other gentleman was taking pictures with his own decent SLR set up and from what I saw, I think he emailed you the pictures. This was obviously for a price and he did two newly married couples in the time we were there!

Now, for the front on shot, that most people want, the queue is for you! This means that no-one else will be in your shot. For the side on pictures, you just take them as and when you want. The time to take them is when one group has finished taking pictures and the next group are getting ready but remember, your pictures will be at around a forty-five degree angle to the sign.

When it was our turn I firstly took pictures of my son by himself and then (I'd already set the stand up) I placed my phone on my tripod and set it to ten seconds, for a couple of shots together. This was because I knew exactly what I wanted, with the sign hitting the middle of the palm trees, to square it off.

The twenty-five minutes actually flew by, as it was fun seeing others do strange poses under the sign.

Overall, it's up to you what you want and I didn't feel any pressure at all for the gentleman taking pictures with peoples phones. He actually said once I was finished "You came...

I’ve always saw this sign as a computer background or my many US Friends. Untill I have seen it from my pair of eyes,,, I was wondering when I ll have a picture underneath and Phewwwww I got a chance. Now I was able to see the masterpiece in my own eyes and it was magnificent. One photographer lady was willing to help us and helping to have different pose. Bring water, a Cap or Hat to cover your head and some patience it can take up some time to get it framed. The queue is long in day time , mostly after 12 oclock and it gets longer and longer. you will get cool picture and a great memory with this sign board. Infront of it, its Harley Davidson and Also a Meverick’s helicopter. I was sweating out good! There is free parking but depending upon the time of day, there may a line.
