Glitter & Glam — Attraction in Paramus

My two daughters and my best friends two daughters did the bff package this Saturday. The two young ladies that worked with them were very sweet and accommodating, they chatted with them and definitely made them feel special! I love the set up of the place and looks like you could have a great birthday party here! I did have to take off two stars for two reasons:

1. despite kids being probably the clumsiest ever, there is no real process to dry their nails. You would think they would use fans after they do their nails to have them dry a bit quicker, but they didn’t and of course 3 out of 4 of them smudged their nails. Again the technicians were very accommodating and worked to redo those nails but I think that could have been prevented.

2. I’m not sure if this is an issue of quality or products, but both my daughter’s nails have peeled. My youngest had three nails that peeled/chipped off like a sticker and so far my oldest has one nail that peeled off. Now I know this isn’t a gel manicure and I didn’t expect it to last two weeks but was hoping we would at least get 3-4 full days out of it. The pricing is not super expensive and I found it reasonable but again this should be lasting at least 3 to 4 days in my opinion. I actually wasn’t going to post this because I thought it was maybe just something my youngest was doing but this morning I saw my oldest nails have peeled as well. I’m not a professional but when I do my girls nails at home I get at least 4-5 days out of it.

I was really considering doing this for a birthday party but I don’t want ten girls crying that their nails have smudged or peeled off. From my own experience when this happens it’s due to old nail polish or applying too many coats/too thick. I would definitely encourage them to work on that.

There are not enough words to thank the Glitter & Glam team! Rocio and her team of wish grantors made my daughter's 6th birthday unforgettable! The spa is immaculate and literally every little girl's dream to walk into a pink crystal palace where everything is just the right size for them. We felt like VIPs being whisked away to our private party room for the girls to change into their pink robes and flip flops and of course pink fluffy spa headbands, what a moment! The looks on their faces - priceless! As soon as they were changed we were brought back into the salon where a team of the sweetest, most kind women were waiting to give our girls their spa treatments, manis, pedis and facials complete with cucumber eye masks, like what?!?!? I want this level of service when I go to the spa! Just amazing! And just when they thought the fun was over, the G&G squad hit them with a runway dance party! The girls were beyond at this point, just screaming out this is "the best day of their lives!" I was getting teary eye'd! Before pizza and cake we had a fabulous photoshoot, that you'd see in a bridal magazine of a bride with her bridesmaids, the way that the team positioned the girls gave an editorial vibe, that us moms will cherish! I am already picking the photos I want to frame and put in my daughter's room, so she can always remember the best day of her life spent with friends at the most magical venue for little ones in Bergen county ; ) Thank you so so so much to Rocio, Michelle, Natasha and everyone else at the salon, you are truly memory makers! Yesterday I attended my granddaughter’s 6th bday at Glitter and Glam in Paramus. The place looked adorable and was very busy. My daughter, who booked the party added 2 more girls to the initial count which they accepted at an earlier date. When we arrived they said they couldn’t accept 6 girls, they could only take 5 due to how busy they were and lack of staff. After some arguing, my daughter had to make the decision to leave the youngest guest out. We even offered to pay for her separately so she could be included. They could not accommodate us. Staff did give her a pink robe after some arguing. She sat amongst the girls with her little hands waiting to be polished. We asked if we could paint her nails etc…just to make her feel like part of the group. We were told we could rub a little lotion on her hands. I decided to do that so she could feel involved. I looked over at her mom and she had tears in her eyes. My heart was broken. We suggested to her mom to take her away and find a nail salon inside the mall to accommodate this little angel. This changed my whole demeanor during the party, although I tried to maintain a cheerful attitude. How could staff not accommodate this little girl, even if it wasn’t to the same capacity as the older ones. Lastly, my daughter also reserved and pre paid for a “cake room”, but because she didn’t answer the confirmation call—the room was no longer available. If you prepay, isn’t that enough confirmation??? We had the bday cupcakes at the food court instead. When it was over and my daughter was settling the bill. Staff had to refund for the 6th girl and the cake room. All I can say is “SHAME ON YOU”. Atrocious...
