Romantic Depot — Attraction in Paramus

Will never do business here again. The newer guy who apparently just started working the counter again blatantly lied to my face last night when I went in toy shopping for my new girl. They were having a 50% off sale for every item with a white sticker on the price. I bought my girl a Doc Johnson Pocket Rocket and some lubes. We go to pay and the bill comes out to like $35. I say, "Oh. It's 50% off though right?" And he informs me that it's already deducted. Impossible. I tell him I've been here before very recently and they were much cheaper, and he tells me several reasons, saying that the price really went up a lot, you're just paying for the name, I'm getting it what the store pays for it, and several other lies. I go out to the car and scratch off the $59.95 white sticker to reveal the $25.00 yellow sticker price. So not only did this place more than double their price on items just so they could have a 50% off sale, but they've trained their employees to treat the customers like they're noobs. Should have bought the toy online for $12. I have no problem with the place trying to make some money, but don't lie to your customers and do shady sales that aren't actually sales just to make your customers feel like you're getting a deal. That's a dirty marketing trick, and that's coming from a guy who works in car sales. Never...

I went to this place with my boyfriend after a stressful day, just looking for something fun for us both. I was warmly welcomed and was greeted by Steve, I guess the owner. He helped me with everything I was looking for and shared information about having to take education classes so he could help his customers in a safe responsible way. I was helped by mainly Steve, and Erin, although Alexis and Alanna’s were very sweet too that night. After losing my debit card I was very disappointed and they had given me a few discount cards for the inconvenience. As a genuine previous-lover of this store, I’m really devastated to leave a one star review but it’s extremely necessary. Not that it’ll do much good but it should be known: they are notorious for marking up cheap items to an extremely high number. the exact same items you can find online or Amazon are marked up sometimes 5x the normal price if not more. I understand how important it is to support small businesses but these mark ups are taking advantage of us as the customers and is just one bit disrespectful slap in the face. I know they need to make a profit but again, it’s an absurd amount that they overcharge. Disappointing. Won’t be giving this place...
