I am following up in regards to a dispute I had notified you a while back. I purchased a Television from an Armen Babayan who is the owner of HDTV Outlet Pasadena California Location. When I saw his advertising on line, he clearly had noted that his Televisions are open box but not damaged in any shape or form. I visited him and his staff a few times before deciding to proceed and each time they told me the same thing that his televisions are open box but same as new and that all of this Televisions are insured.
Eventually my wife and decided to purchase one. He initially told us he would deliver it as well but ultimately I ended up paying about 60 dollars as well to deliver the Television to my home with Lyft. Once we agreed to buy the TV he asked us to come to the back of his store which was completely dark, he pulled it out for one second to show the screen to us which looked fine and then he told us to go back out and wait for him. He put the Television back in the package and we got an LYFT and left.
About 2-3 weeks later I finally had the opportunity to open the box. Immediately after taking the Television out it was clearly evident that the bottom ¼ of the television had deep scratches on it, and it looked like a child had taken a razor and made uneven circles on the screen. I communicated with Armen Babayan by text and he initially refused to do anything and stated that he had filmed us in his store that he showed us the Television and that we agreed there was no damage. This is false. We never agreed to anything and the room was dark and his comments that he was videotaping us is also not acceptable.
We ended up writing a negative review on Yelp and then realized he had a lot of negative reviews. The positive ones all seemed like people who wrote one review and were for him only and likely his friends. I believe around that time I mad my call to Citi and disputed this. I was told that because Uber deliver the you will not do anything.
After a lot of arguments and threats by phone and text Mr. Babayan told me to remove my negative review and he would do whatever it would take to make me happy. I initially was going to ask him to come pick up the TV and give me a refund but he told me to give him one more try before doing so. He came and saw the Television and agreed that the screen was totally damaged and had nothing to do with the Uber ride. He then proceeded to bring a replacement for the Television and took the original damaged one.
Again due to the fact that I am a physician I took my time before turning it on. Eventually I did. This time, the screen was blurry, my 2010 Samsung Television had better images than this supposed brand new perfect Samsung Television I bought from him. The images were blurry and lacked clarity. There were also white vertical bands throughout the screen. I once again started contacting him and some by text and he once again tried to convince me there was nothing wrong with the Television. He refused to refund nor help out.
Armen Babayan is a deceptive person. He verbally tells you these are NEW Televisions that our out of the box, but then after you review your receipt it states they are refurnbished. This contradicts his own advertisement which I have included here for your review. It is the third attachment.
Furthermore Armen tells you that he give you a 3 month warranty and then also told me I get an extended warranty as well. He was neither willing to honor his own 3 month warranty nor did he send me any extended warranty. His sales receipt that he only sends you by email and after close review also reveals that the warranty is for $1000 dollars. Well I paid over $1200 dollars for the TV so it makes no sense.
Armen Babayan is a con artist who takes advantage of people and drags things out in the hopes that you wait long enough that you give up or he states that it is not his problem and you can then be referred to some outside company that you supposedly have an extended warranty which he never he gives you any information about. ( the rest is in 1...
Read moreDishonest store owner. Armen Babayan places numerous adds on Facebook under various versions of his name. He tells you the Televisions are NEW OPEN BOX, he tries to send you a receipt by email so you don't see the receipt while you are buying. The receipts states the exact opposite which is that the Televisions are refurbished. He tries to give you a "warranty" with an outside company. The warranty is usually less that the price you paid for the over-inflated TV. He tries very hard to drag out your complaints so you over run the 90 days he gives you to complain or him to give you another television. Even when you are under 90 days and if you complain enough he bring you another damaged Television. Overall this man is not an honorable man and unless you want a lot of heartache don't buy from him. May of his reviews are from friends and family from the Armenian Community and they will write whatever for their buddy. The Television I got was damaged, the screen was damaged. The App Store does not work and I can't download any apps. What Armen Does not understand is that Karma is going to come back and bite him. Namaste to all the innocent customers and...
Read moreI was in the market to upgrade my TV but on a budget. They have all the same TV's that the major stores do but at a discount because of open boxes, returns that they couldn't sell for new anymore, etc. So I got a good OLED TV and at fraction of what I would have paid in the store. The best part? I was able to go on a payment plan. If you pay within the 90 days, you won't pay for any interest or anything. So, I paid pretty much what they were asking and had a few months to do so, while I enjoyed the TV. Also, the first one I got had a dent in the frame. They said no problem, just bring it by and they'll exchange it. They are reasonable, friendly and fair. If I had the need for more than 1 TV, I would have...
