RISE Medical & Recreational Marijuana Dispensary Paterson — Attraction in Paterson

I'm once AGAIN editing this, but this time, for another good reason. The grievances I've posted and those sent via email & text have been addressed and they've persistently contacted me to accommodate my special needs. I'm very satisfied with how my complaints were handled. Toni has gone above and beyond to accommodate me; I would give her 5 stars if I were allowed to rate a person instead of a place. She has been contacting me via text because she's even accomodated my preference of contact. She's incredible and you can easily tell she genuinely cares. (Other issues I had were expressed, but those are in regards to certain policies, not something the person helping me had any control over.)

ADMITTEDLY, their online inventory is NOT in real time, nor does it represent their physical in-store inventory. I hope this changes soon. Between lack of inventory and not honoring first responder VETERANS for discount will keep this at 4 stars until that changes.

Let me preface this by saying my usual ATC was Harmony... but Rythm flower is undoubtedly the best right now, in my opinion. To find out RISE carries the same cartridges as Harmony strains, I immediately had to visit them... and I don't even vape. I'm a traditional flower smoker. However, having a vape and cart gives me a sense of security, especially in public.

I'd been a Harmony client for about a year. I quit smoking flower for 13 years after a Marijuana related panic attack, so having carts of flower I already love is great; no "trial and error" or wasted money. RISE's employees are amazing and they're all very friendly and helpful. However, some employees are exceptional: friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and absolutely hilarious. My best friend and I had a lot of fun while being there. Plus, this dispensary is not in a bad part of Paterson at all.

Parking is tough, as the store is a bit small, along with the parking lot. RISE offers discounts for active Police/Fire/EMS, but not for medically retired first responder veterans. NOT COOL. Although, they do have a discount for people receiving government assistance. They also have a loyalty program wherein you receive x amount of points from spending y amount of money. Again, I don't know the specifics. I suggest asking; everyone working there is always more than happy to answer any questions you have.

They've also opened their Paramus & Bloomfield locations recently. Bloomfield is also now a medical and recreational (with minimal inventory) facility. Paramus is medical ONLY. They absolutely need more Rythm flower options, as they don't carry many strains of Rythm flower and that's they're own friggen brand, lol. They carry Verano, &shine, kind tree, Curaleaf, Botanist, Good Green, PAX, and a few other brands.

All employees I've met have been absolutely wonderful, along with their cartridge selection. Definitely the place for those who like to vape and are sick of Curatheif's rip-off, half-full, sub-par carts. However, they all taste the same and they go QUICK.

I'd love to see more variety of Rythm strains and hope they throw some out there. Hoping for RSO soon but clearly, we're...

never understood how the transaction fee works on their end – so i come short often & respectfully step away to sort my funds out.

september 19th, 2024

had the same issue today: but this time instead of calmly explaining, received attitude and a lecture instead.

stepped away, sorted my funds out. i was visibly frustrated – i do apologize for that.

sorted it in 5 minutes, waiting at the side for 10 more minutes – 👀 the worker is fully aware.

i’m normally not in a rush, but my time is being taken from being on the phone with a loved one in the hospital.

come back, worker is already aggressive – i don’t have to explain myself to this person; however, i say twice that it is my fault that i was not ready – continues to lecture me – “it’s not my fault that you weren’t ready” while slamming everything, including the debit card machine.

i say “you’re telling me things i already admitted was my fault” – does not stop. i keep asking “why u acting like that?” – i’m mid-transaction on the keypad with my hand on my debit card – still going – i look up & say “why are you acting like that?”

snatches the debit card machine out my hand and loudly says – “i’m not taking you”

i just repeat several times “i just want to pay & leave” & it wouldn’t happen. i ask for a manager 3 times & am threatened with “i’m gonna call security” all 3 times. finally, after the 4th time, the worker points to a group of workers & says, “go find one over there.”

i speak with Victor, a very very helpful individual & supervisor w/ great character. he explains the transaction fee & goes out of his way to show me visibly on my receipt how it works. now i will never forget that it rounds it to the nearest $5 – 💪 even lends me a coupon i didn’t ask for at the end of it all.

i haven’t wrote a review somewhere in years & wasn’t even planning to write this one, but it took a lot of important time away from me.

‼️i don’t have time for all of that. the whole time, i was just thinking about my loved one in the hospital – & i use marajuana for a chronic physical medical condition, i just want to pay & leave – it’s that simple.

this worker needs to understand this – “you may not see eye to eye w/ everybody – swallow your pride & move on – just how you don’t care about anybody else’s problems, i don’t care about yours. you did not prove anything.”

i am not opposed to people getting their job done as efficiently as possible – this worker took their own time & energy away from themself. i have bigger fish to fry than to cater towards this worker’s power trip.

i still put 5 stars because more often than not, the customer service is above & beyond excellent – even at the door! – i have also been able to find the right products that are most effective in easing my condition – great sales very often on what i need – making this recovery process very bearable.

shoutout to the tall man w/ the black glasses & the deep voice @ the door, shoutout to danny, another shout out to victor, & to many others that are very helpful there!

This past weekend at RISE was absolutely incredible—an experience that left me feeling uplifted and so grateful. From the moment I walked in, the energy and ambiance were nothing short of FIRE. 🔥 I was greeted by Mike, someone I had the privilege of working alongside during my time at Paramus. And wow, let me tell you—Mike is one of a kind. He’s not just calm and assertive; he’s a trailblazer. As the first African-American mayor of Hamilton, his accolades are truly inspiring. Yet, despite all his accomplishments, Mike remains humble and grounded, continuing to work at RISE with the same dedication and kindness that has always defined him.

Then I saw Karen, one of the most incredible leaders I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Karen’s leadership style is firm yet compassionate, and her presence is unforgettable. Her smile is so contagious—it lights up the room—and her laugh is the kind that fills your heart with love and light..

But it didn’t stop there. I also ran into Jesse and Jared and had the chance to meet new faces while reconnecting with familiar ones. It was such a beautiful reminder of the incredible team that RISE has cultivated.

As a makeup artist, I walked in with a full face of festive St. Patrick’s Day glam, and let me tell you—the love and appreciation I received were overwhelming. And when I came back sporting a Winnie the Pooh look, everyone celebrated my creativity and individuality just as much. They didn’t just see me—they saw me for who I truly am, and that kind of energy is unmatched.

RISE, you’re doing an extraordinary job at bringing together some of the most amazing, genuine people. Your team creates an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and full of positivity. Thank you for always making me feel at home. You have my loyalty and appreciation for everything you do! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
