Wish I could give this place a -5 and then some. my friend was held at gun point well the gentleman had it in his pocket and threatened him with it and it was very clear in view. This guy was in a tan SUV and darker color hair and ton and very tall and possible gang member by his tattoos and it was right in front of the store. This is obviously an ongoing scam there possibly known or aided by some of the employees working there. My friend left the store was in a nicer vehicle and is an older man and well dressed but really nothing flashy other than his older red Mustang. After my friend didn’t buy anything and walk out to his girl this gentleman was waiting on the street outside of the store before he could even get in his car this guy pulled right up and blocked him in. The man approached my friend in a nice wat at first but due to his demeanor he could tell something was wrong right away and he started asking about the car. That’s when my friend got scared and he realized he couldn’t move his car and that’s when the guy started getting aggressive with him and that’s when he said he had the gun made it clear to my friend but wasn’t waving it around. that’s when he said I did some work on your car to my friend basically a detail and said you owe me $150 but my friend never met this man before in his life. He said I don’t know you try to get inside his car the man blocked him again so my friend opened his wallet hoping someone inside Would see what was going on because employees could clearly see but no one did anything. My friend was hoping that he could give the man some money and he would let him leave and wouldn’t get shot and that’s when he handed him $60 and then The guy saw my friend had more and that’s when he said I will shot you and took every dime out of his wallet $250. He doesn’t care about the money even though he doesn’t have it to give. Only after he gave him everything the man left my friend get into his car go. my friend drove out of there and was too scared to contact the store right away or the police department Because they would’ve taken 30 mins to get there. however He did go back and the manager was very nasty and said what is he supposed to do even though it’s his store parking lot. he went to the police department and it’s bad area so clearly there’s not much they can do. All my friend was concerned about was other people safety. God for bid this happen to a woman with a child. That’s when I called earlier today before he went back to the store the manager wasn’t available but there was a sweet girl who took the complaint. I called back to speak with the manager who basically barked at me and cut me off said it’s not his responsibility your it’s your friend problem go to the cops even though it’s Home Depot property and my friend could sue. He wasn’t nice at all didn’t ask about his well-being so that’s why I feel like they might be involved in the scam so I called corporate to let them know what was going on hopefully they’ll do something other than having cops drive around at 10 o’clock at night when they are closed already. they should have security this is an ongoing scam in the area and it’s a bad area and people should be on high alert but somebody who’s older and might not know may not be on their guard or it could easily happen to a woman with a small child who is not paying attention. Also I definitely wouldn’t carry cash they’re only credit cards. not only did this happen they were also very rude to him in the store because he only had cash and wanted him to wait in a line of One cashier and 25 people so we put the four items back because they wouldn’t let him use the self-service with cash. So if you’re dressed nice or have a nicer car even if you’re parked right in front of the store and it’s the middle of the day because this happen at 7:30 or 8 o’clock at while it’s still light out and even if employees can see you or there’s a parking lot full of people you can still get robbed at gunpoint and no one will help you then or after and the cops don’t...
Read moreVery disappointing experience! I recently purchased a dishwasher at Home Depot in Paterson, NJ for my non profit place of employment. I had a tax exempt certificate. It took two store associates about 1 hour to figure out how to establish the tax exempt certificate for a sale. At the time of purchase I paid for installation , and also to have the old dishwasher removed. An additional fee of $30 was added on...." "M-901 move your appliance to another room." (I'm not sure what this was about?) The entire purchase was $798.86.
$169-total for installation, appliance removal and take appliance to another room.
The dishwasher was delivered as promised on 8-10. The delivery/installer quickly looked under our sink and stated "I cannot install this dishwasher. I cannot move the valve. You need a plumber." I asked him to remove the old dishwasher...he said he couldn't. He then wrote on an invoice "Customer request installation." He left the new dishwasher and assured me "there would be no problem with the installation refund."
I called home depot customer service for the installation refund as well as the removal which was not done. I spoke with "Sandra." I gave her the invoice number, etc. I told her I needed an installation refund and refund for removal. I was placed on hold for 30 minutes. Sandra returned and stated "I'm sorry you will have to go into the store where you purchased this for a refund. Sometimes this happens."
I went into Paterson Home Depot and got on the customer service line. A pleasant store associate attempted to help me get the refund. She typed my information into the computer and told me that the online customer service agent had reduced my sale to 1 cent instead of attempting refund she was not sure what to do. She then called an IT person and I waited on line for 45 minutes. She then informed me the account had been refunded. I asked for a receipt she said "check your account online." I again asked for a receipt....she printed me a receipt for $138.98...I said to her I am being charged $30.00 for "M-901 move your appliance to another room" which was not done. She stated I'm sorry they didn't refund that and shrugged her shoulders. She left the register.
At the end of a long day this was an exhausting experience. I'm not sure how buying a dishwasher became so complicated. At this point, I've spent over 3 hours buying the dishwasher and attempting to receive the refund that I am entitled to and I still haven't received my money back for work that was never done. I would like the additional $30.00 refund. And no I don't want to call customer service again or return to the store. If I don't receive the refund, rest assured I will tell everyone I know how customers are treated...
Read moreThe worst experience I’ve ever had in any store. I rented a auto-feed drain cleaner from the Home Depot in Paterson, nj and also added a $9 “DAMAGE WARRANTY” who the supervisor “Ciro G” said himself would cover me from any damages. I took the drain cleaner home and used the drain cleaner. The machine got stuck and would not retrieve back. When I took the drain cleaner back to Home Depot it was tangled because it would not retrieve back to its normal position. When I got there the first thing “Ciro G” said was what did we do and that there was a $25 fee for customer neglect of using the item. Now this was the same associate who told me to put on the warranty to cover me from any damages. As I’m telling Ciro G. that 1)How can that be customer abuse if I actually tried to use the item for what it was meant to do and 2) He clearly told me to take the $9 warranty so that I would be cover for any damages. I asked Gino G. To show me where it says what “customer neglect” was in the form he gave me. He couldn’t find it so instead he went into his computer and printed a paper that says I was liable up to 15% of the damages. I told Ciro that he never gave me that paper and his response was that he doesn’t have to give any form, really?!. As I was talking to Giro another associate who claimed was the store manager by name of Clyde, said “you have to pay the $25 and that’s it!” So I also asked him to show me where it said that what i was not cover. His response was “ was if I was dumb enough to not know the difference between abuse and used and walked away. By this point there were 4 people in line and the disrespect and embarrassment I felt was unacceptable. I have never been talked to like that by any employee let alone a store general manager. I asked for corporates number and instead they gave me a number to make a appointment for service. I asked for the store manager to come and talk to me so that he can give me his district managers information and he refuse to even come out a speak to me. I rented this drain cleaner to unclog my kitchen sick because I am remodeling my kitchen and just like my other two properties I order all my appliances from Home Depot it Clifton ,nj. However after this experience I will cancel the appointment I made to get a quote to remodel my kitchen and refuse to ever give Home Depot my business and hard earn...
