
My rating is actually a zero, but the lowest rating that can be given is a one star. I signed up for the 12-month personal training membership, and I completely regret this decision. The personal trainer turnover rate was extremely high which is unacceptable. The constant changing of personal trainers interfered with my personal fitness goals. It felt like I was starting from the beginning every time I was assigned a different trainer. For instance, I would be asked about my fitness goals and the trainers would not focus on those goals. Instead, the trainers would develop their own plan which did not reflect what I had discussed with them previously. Once I was starting to adapt to the style of the trainer, it always had the same ending...that they were leaving the gym. Furthermore, the trainers were supposed have recorded frequent body measurements in order to track progress but such measurements were not made. Beware if your personal trainer becomes a master trainer. If this situation occurs, you will be forced to upgrade your personal training membership or be assigned a different trainer. The customer service is subpar and the staff would never return my calls when I left a message. It is also impossible to speak to a representative from corporate. Nothing can be canceled by yourself in the online LA fitness portal which makes the portal useless. It is required that the client prints a cancellation form and mail it through regular postal mail. Upon receipt, corporate should send an acknowledgment email which I never received. All these obstacles that the gym puts in place when wanting to cancel the membership are all probably just a strategy to keep the clientsā money. Your personal training membership will automatically renew once the term ends, and it is extremely difficult to prevent the automatic renewal with all these obstacles in place. I went in person to the gym to cancel the personal training membership, and I was not even asked why I was canceling it. The personnel did not seem to care why I was leaving the program; therefore, they were not interested in improving themselves just interested in collecting the cancellation fee. In summary, the personal training membership is extremely expensive with a high turnover rate, the customer service is awful that even their staff leaves, the obstacles in place ensure that the gym keeps all of the clientsā money. Weston Gloger who is sales counselor helped us. We agreed upon after he talked to his boss, $99 dollars initial fee which we will get refund and 135 dollars per month for 3 times a month. Total was 234. We did not have credit card so we said we will call you with credit card numbers. So when my husband called Weston he said he can not do it on phone so we need to come in. So when we went next day his boss Beandon was there, Weston was off that day. So papers were ready for us to sign and I noticed 50 dollars processing fee and we were never ever told about processing fee. So we decided to go when Weston was there. Meantime we show 185 dollars charge from La fitness. So went today and met with Weston, he had no clue how 185 dollars was charge. It was supposed to be 234, 99+134. Than he figured that it is 50 dollars processing fee and 135 per month. We still dont understand that he said he can not take it on phone and still 184 dollars were charg . And he flatly lied that he did tell us about 50 dollars processing fee. We wish we could have taken in writing. Still we agreed on 50 dollars processing fee and 135 dollars per month. And we were ready to sign the papers and I notice 99 dollars initial fee that they said they will wave. Than Weston and his boss informed us that they can not wave that. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IT IS ONCE YOU AGREE to wave AND THAN still PUT IT IN PAPPER. IT WAS A TRICK.WHAT IF I DID NOT NOTICED IT. Well we walked out and very disappointed. I was first skeptic to go check out the facility myself, today I can honestly say that LaFitness in Pearland has been nothing but great to me. As a young woman Iāve always felt safe and comfortable working out there. The gym has been running since 07ā and is still in great condition taking in consideration how long itās been standing and also how many people have ran in and out of it at this point. I truly appreciate the major upgrades theyāve made as far as machine maintenance, they are not the newest machines but they are definitely great quality and the upholstery is 10/10, I want to give a special shout-out to their hack-squat machines, by far my favorite ever.
It amazes me how clean the facility is kept at all times, the staff is re-racking weights around the clock and my goodness I am blown away by how sweet and welcoming all the staff is, from the front desk, sales team, personal trainers, all the way down to the janitors. Great passionate people always willing to lend a helping hand. Thereās been countless times Iāve asked for tips and pointers on my workout routines and my nutrition and Iāve never been turned away, they definitely know their stuff and they never fail to make me feel like family! For all the amenities they have to offer and the great service alone, I was shocked at how inexpensive the membership price is. Love love love!
