We purchased a Ryobi 7 1/2 Miter Saw for some small projects in our new home. When we got it home, we could not loosen the saw blade screw and ended up stripping the bolt in our efforts. We took it back, and asked if they could try on the new one to see if it was just us. A gentleman opened up the new saw and could not unlock the saw bolt on the new Ryobi. That healed our wounds a bit, he tried with everything he had and the screw would not come undone. Then, the woman at the register whispers under her breathe "They said Brian would be back from lunch soon". The other gentleman nodded slowly, on hearing the news of Brian. I wondered who this Brian was, you could feel the atmosphere change around us. Everything became tense around us, and with good reason. Brian meandered up to the register and assessed the situation. Men and women could barely keep their clothes on their bodies, feeling an uncontrollable urge to offer themselves up to this God among men. He smirked, acknowledging his onlookers, some fainted, others ended their lives right there as nothing could ever make them feel that alive ever again. He took hold of the flimsy hex tool that came with the Ryobi saw and gave a mighty pull on the bolt. It did not budge. Brian, looked puzzled. The other Home Depot employees were in shock, they've never seen anything hold up the the world breaking grip and strength of their very own God before. He spoke with words so heavy they could crush mere mortals if he wanted them to. "This fascinates me.. allow me to try something else". Before I could say yes, he swept the miter saw into his bulging muscles and faded into the aisles on the other side of the store. We considered other options just in case the tool collapsed under the might of Brian's power. As I wondered over to his location, he wielding many celestial items that I had never seen before. He sprayed a slick lubricant across the bolt and gave it another try, with no luck. Energy crackled around us as he nodded, and unsheathed a tool with many heads from a dimension that contained others like it. He tore open one of the heads and inserted it into the bolt and gave it a mighty twist. Still, no budge. Brian bellowed "I admire your strength, bolt. Perhaps I have not treated you as the worthy foe that you are". And with that, he lifted up a hammer. The store grew dark and became encased in clouds so tremendous it felt like you were flying through the sky. Lightning crackled around as he inserted the hex tool back into the bolt, and gave a mighty swing of his hammer into the arm of the hex tool. It screamed at the contact made by this master crafted weapon of unknown power. He gave another swing, and many others followed. His brow furrowed and he let forth a mighty growl that split the ground beneath our feet, slamming the hammer down once more into the tool, sending sparks that erupted like a star exploding before your very eyes. The bolt, had be loosened. It, was defeated. The clouds sucked into an unseen drain and everything returned back to normal. Brian handed me the saw and said with his gravely voice "I thank you for bringing such a worthy adversary to me today. I've only ever felt like this once before, and even then it paled in comparison to the challenge brought fourth today". His form whipped up into a cyclone, and faded into nothing, as if he was never there. I'd shop here again, even though it is...
Read moreI bought a toilet on the Home Depot site for home delivery after selecting this store. Home Depot took $1000 from my bank account. It was scheduled to be delivered in 2 parts. Only the tank was delivered. The afternoon before the installation was scheduled, I called to track down the second part of my order. I was told repeatedly that it had been delivered to me. I was told that I needed to return the product if I wanted to cancel the installation. I kept telling them that I didn’t have it & therefore could not return it. I went to the store with what I had. I waited an hour and 45 minutes. I was told that I could not return the product to Home Depot. I was verbally told that I would receive a full refund from whoever the product was returned to by UPS but when I asked for something in writing that I was entitled to a full refund I got no response. I repeated that I was not happy with the possibility of not getting a full refund because of their insistence I had product to return, the manager told me she could not talk to me & walked off. I waited an hour and 45 minutes with a pleasant but ineffective customer service person to be blown off by a manager in under 1 minute. If they don’t have it in the store, order from some other company. Honestly depot will not stand behind on line orders
Update: the response that Home Dopet provided says it has a link to resolve the issue with for further details-the link is not valid. I was told that the hour & forty five minutes I waited was the manager trying to find a way to get my product delivered and my installation rescheduled. The manager had not called the installation people & they showed up as scheduled. Not only did they not take responsibility for the item sold on their website that they got paid for, but they treat their own contractors rudely. And although I was told that the schedule was particular day because they only had one guy who could handle my install when i spoke with the installers, they would not have been able to install the product if it had been delivered. And finally, I was told that there would be no refund until the product was returned but I couldn't return to the store & they had arranged for UPS to pick up the product. So I was supposed to leave the cardboard packaging on my front stoop for UPS to pick up although it was scheduled to rain for 3 days & returning it to the store would have at least kept the packaging dry so the ceramic toilet tank would not fall out & break. So again- if you have to shop with Home Depot, only buy products in the store so you can return it and get a refund. They are refusing to refund $1000 to me that they have taken for a product they didn't deliver & and installation that...
Read moreJust had a gas range installed that I ordered online and the installers did not push it back against the wall - left it out about 2". When I asked about it they just said it was an issue with the new range and they could not do anything about it. They left a card with a telephone number to call. I immediately called and waited for 10 minutes and when someone answered they said they would transfer me to the right department. I then waited another 10 minutes and then the line dropped. I decided I would call the appliance dept at my local Home Depot. I had to call three times before I got someone, who told me the person I needed to talk to was not available and that they would have the person call me back. No one called me back so I called several times in the next two days and never got an answer. I called Customer Service and they transferred me to appliances and again no answer. 4 days later I go to the Home Depot store and head to the appliance dept and no one was there. Waited about 6 minutes and went up front to customer service and they paged an appliance person and an actual person appeared.. I started explaining my story and this person said "yes I think I know what your problem is". I had not even told her my name. Anyway she said that the install team takes pictures and it showed my gas line valve extending a couple of inches from the wall. I said yes but the counter has a 2" extension that is there to prevent the range from being a problem plus the pictures taken by the install crew showed the range had a 2" indention to allow for these matters. She then said that she would arrange to have another install crew come out and take a look BUT IT COULD TAKE 30 DAYS!!! I said I would like to return the range. She quickly said their policy for online sales is that you can only return an item within 48 hours and then only if there is a manufacturer defect. CUSTOMER...
