Walgreens — Attraction in Pekin

Why does anyone use this pharmacy? That is a serious question. EVERY prescription I, or any member of my family, had had is MUCH cheaper everywhere else. I'm not talking $20 here or there. Very significant amounts of money can be saved by ditching this place.

I currently started a prescription that is not covered by my insurance. First off, the Walgreens staff has never mentioned trying anything like GoodRx, because why provide savings to the customers. Second, even if you use an app like that, it is still hundreds cheaper elsewhere. My new prescription with GoodRx at Walmart is $19.64/month. With GoodRx at Walgreens, the same medication is $382.45.

Yep, you read that right. I'm not talking name brand vs generic. Both are generics, both are made by the same manufacturer, Walgreens just thinks the extra $360+ is worth it since they also make you wait twice as long. This is a joke. I have been shopping at Walgreens for about 40 years. I use to love it and the drive up service was excellent! But in the last few years the service has been awful. Today I got in the drive through about 10:30am. There were 2 lines with 4 cars in front of me. When I finally got up to the window, the shade was down and she said “the pharmacy is now closed until 11:30” I looked at my time on my phone ( which is accurate) and it was 10:57. So after waiting almost 30 minutes, they wouldn’t wait on me . By the way, there were no cars behind me. My service would have took less than 3 minutes. Told my prescription would be ready at 1pm. To give them plenty of time, I waited until after 5pm to pick it up. They told me it would be at least another 30 minutes and basically just blew off the fact they had promised me it would be ready four hours earlier. Came back after two more hours and then it was fifteen minutes. they finally had it ready at 9am this morning. Twenty hours after it was promised. Use a different pharmacy. The crew in there at the time didn't even hide the fact they had contempt for their customers. The guy ahead of me also was told they did do his prescription yet either and he was also told to...
