I came to this theater for the first time on November 11, 2017 to watch the film Daddy's Home 2. This is a great theater, since it has reclining seats, a great Dolby Cinema (which was where I viewed A Quiet Place) that has great picture quality and loud sound, which makes your behind vibrate in the seat, and the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, which is great because you can get unlimited refills.
I have three criticisms about the theater:
The IMAX theater is not as large as its normal counterpart, which makes it kind of pointless. The sound and picture quality is still good though. Do I need to mention the nostalgic IMAX intro?
The screens are locked to the standard 1.85:1 aspect ratio. This is a problem, because it can be distracting when watching a movie in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio. The black bars are clearly seen on the screen. The screens should have had the ability to widen the ratio from 1.85:1 to 2.39:1. But I won't rant about this too much, since many movie theaters are doing this move, so that's a whole other conversation for another day.
The placement of the ticket booth is too close to the door. This is kind of a problem, because the lobby cannot be accessed unless you buy a movie ticket. This disallows people to sit in one of the chairs to wait for someone or drink at the bar without seeing a movie. I understand that they don't want people to sneak into a movie (especially little kids that try to sneak into R-rated films like Sausage Party and Deadpool), but I think it would be a better idea to place the ticket booth in front of the hallway entrance to the theaters.
But overall, this is a great theater, as well as a good hangout place for a group of friends or family. I totally...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at this movie theater yesterday and was very impressed with the facility. It seems to be fairly new but I could be wrong. It appeared to very new.
When you walk in they have a ticket kiosk or you can purchase your tickets with an attendant. Next to that is the snack order line and they have a huge wall of beverages. Even the ICEE machine. I thought that was cool. Since it isn't behind the counter and within the wall as you walk to the theater, I would assume that it's free refills....but don't quote me on that. On the other side they have a bar. My friend and I wish we would've known that since we had stopped at Hurricane's on the way to get a drink. Would've been nice to slowly sip our drinks as watching the movie. However we know for next time.
The theater itself was really nice. The seats recline and not the type of recline where you have to force it back. It is motorized and quite comfortable. If you've ever been to Ipic, it is those kind of seats.
They have a really cool program called the AMC A-list (not exclusive to that theater but AMC theaters in general). For $20 a month, you can watch 3 movies a week. Not bad considering how much movies cost but then again going tot he movies so often kind of gets tiring. At least to me but to movie goers, it might be the ideal program. I thought it was neat.
Overall I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely come back. It is greatly comparable to Ipic but at a much cheaper rate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to see Harriet with friends after being invited, this outing is rare, prefer watching movies while chillin at home. Lobby was fancy, almost space-age like with its round seating and glass-everywhere windows. Very stylish. Ticket and snack purchase streamlined with online ticket purchase option and self-serve soft drinks and butter for the popcorn, cool, I can mix the drinks and apply butter to my liking. Drink and butter dispensing area clean as well as all areas I visited. I liked that the AMC associate I ordered from offered me a variety of snacks and drinks when I ordered popcorn. Movie was excellent and theatre sound quality and screen were on point. Really liked how screen sort of curved inward from both sides. Seats can be preselected on line. The chairs were very comfortable and reclined in several positions and there is balcony-style seating as well. For privacy, we buy out the whole top balcony row, even if we donāt need the seats. Also, I liked that when movie ended, there were no slow movers in front of us exiting the theatre. The theatre is in the large Pembroke Lakes Mall and is nestled between El Dorado Furniture and House of Hoops. There is an arrow next to the theatreās name on markers in the mallās driveway pointing to the direction of the theatre, making it easy to find and there is plenty of parking. I highly recommend this theatre and I would not mind...
