The Fiber Universe — Attraction in Peoria

We were visiting Peoria from Michigan. My mom was SO excited to visit your store. She talked about it with her spinning friends. Too bad when we were in the store no one came to help us. She stood by the fiber for 10 minutes waiting for someone to approach. Since most of the fiber was not marked with any price tag. The front shop keeper kept gossiping with someone. The Fiber Universe is a perfect example of what small business can be and should be. The inventory is amazing for such a small space and Erin is an amazing resource. My skills have improved greatly after taking a few classes. I went from basic flat knitting to completing a sweater, a few hats, and have started a pair of socks, within a few months. The classes are helpful, but the support you receive after the class has ended really makes the difference as you are building your knitting confidence. I was in town for a conference and stopped in to shop. The shop is super cute and welcoming, and Erin was very kind and knowledgeable (but not in an intimidating way like you get in some shops). She was very helpful in recommending a compatible yarn for my current work-in-progress, and told me a really fun & interesting story about the other yarn I picked out. The whole visit was a delight.
