The venue is absolutely gorgeous and picturesque at night. The price is affordable compared to most other venues in the area. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars versus 5 is because on the day of my wedding the bathrooms weren't cleaned, there was no soap in the dispensers, or toilet paper. My sister-in-law had to hunt down a cleaning cart, clean them herself, and basically stock the bathroom which is completely unacceptable. When the complaint was reported (she waited until after the wedding because she didn't want me or my husband to be stressed out or angry the day of) and some sort of reimbursement for the inconvenience mentioned to the Event Coordinator they stated it was a public venue and people come in and out. Basically, too bad so sad you didn't address it with someone in the building that day. Why you should have to even go out of your way to do that is ridiculous to me. For the price that you're paying, the venue should be 100% ready (everything in adequate condition and stocked) for the event booked on that day. If you book any events with this venue just make sure you check the bathrooms for cleanliness and needed staples before your...
Read moreTypical of Peoria. Gateway building? More like an architectural nightmare. A monolith blocking the view of the river. A totally inefficient building. Every meeting I ran here ran into problems with the worse was losing the phone lines because rats had chewed that loose out under the street in the middle of a meeting. But just the idea of getting some many people up and down the stairs. Crazy. Let alone those folks who need the single, small elevator. Typical of Peoria, someone decided what they wanted and forced the plans around that rather than making the space useful and attractive. Peoria Brutalism. At least they haven't had to tear it...
Read moreThis is an amazing place to have a wedding reception. My wife and I had our reception here on a Sunday and the price was only $900! Any other day it would have been $1,500. The views from the third floor are amazing as it overlooks the Illinois River and the bridge is in the background. At night, the East Peoria lights come on making for a beautiful picture. The ballroom holds 265 people so it's...
