Best historic site in Montgomery County! This is not just my opinion - Montco Happenings voters think so too, 2 years in a row! The mansion is beautifully decorated with Governor Pennypacker's own things and houses his numerous collections. The docents are extremely knowledgeable and give great free tours. The site holds many free, family-friendly events all year long. The porch is a serene place to sit, and it's lovely to stroll around the large property. It's open every day except Monday and you don't need an appointment for a tour. Check...

We celebrated our parents 65th wedding anniversary in the building called, the classroom. Never knew you could rent this place. It was just the right size for 35 people, the maximum you can have is 40. It has a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, three huge sinks, more than enough tables and chairs, bathroom, AC, and they also have picnic tables outside the back door. Wonderful time in a...

You must go here. Historic home of the 23rd Pennsylvania Governor, Samuel W. Pennypacker. A man who did good things for Pennsylvania. Children's rights, Valley Forge National Park, the environment, fought during the Gettysburg campaign and much, much more. A visit well worth your time. We went during a craft show and the tour of the house is fun and very...

Brought grandchildren there for a Fall festival. The kids had a blast. There was a hayride, pumpkin painting, apple cider making, corn shucking, haystack jumping, beanbag tossing, apple cider and candy corn were available for a snack. They requested a donation of $2.00 per person. A great deal and family friendly.

A peaceful place to stop by and visit on a Sunday afternoon. Easy access off of route 73, and there are several walking trails to enjoy. According to the signs, George Washington had his headquarters here in 1777. A revolutionary war historic landmark. Very cool!

I got a terrific tour today from a very informed docent. And for a suggested donation of $2? What a deal! The house is in great shape and it is really interesting to go through the history. I didn't time it, but the tour probably took about 45 minutes.
