After owning a Jamis Dakkar mountain bike about 15 years and absolutely loving it up to today, I decided a few months ago to invest in a new Jamis road bike.
The bike shop that I bought my mountain bike from no longer carries Jamis, so an internet search showed the closest Jamis retailer as Perkiomen bikes.
I called them regarding a new road bike. Joe quickly called me back and we got to talking about several different options. I was pretty much sold on a road bike.
Due to some health issues with my wife, I had to put buying a bike on hold for a short while.
However, I kept doing some research on the different Jamis bikes, and after several weeks following my initial conversation with Joe, I settled on wanting a Jamis Renegade. Joe informed me that in 2018 there was going to be a new Escapade model coming out too.
I was able to research that and decided on that particular bike. However, still due to some health issues with my wife, I was not ready to buy.
Joe politely kept me up-to-date periodically on the availability of them and I did eventually place a deposit on the bike.
Once the bike came in, Joe called me to let me know it was in and we set up a pick up date but due to snow we had to cancel. We then set a date for roughly two weeks later. Due to some scheduling changes, I was able to pick it up a week early. I called Joe on Sunday and asked if I could come down that same day and pick it up. He said he will have it ready for me.
After an hour and a half drive, I arrived at the shop and was greeted and a very friendly manner. The shop is really cool and they have some really neat older bikes inside.
My bike was put together with the exception of the pedals, which I wasn't sure which ones I wanted until I got there. Joe explained all the pedal choices as well as the SPD shoe choices and quickly installed the pedals.
The shoes and water bottle holders that I wanted were not in stock, so Joe said that he would ship them to my house when they arrive.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the service and professionalism of those at Perkiomen bikes.
I brought the bike home yesterday and took a quick Spin and loved it. Today, since the weather was very nice, I took it for a longer Spin and absolutely love it. I'm looking forward to riding it more once the weather finally breaks for good.
I definitely recommend Perkiomen bikes and plan on using them for any future...
Read moreNever again. We are not bike professionals. Brought the bike to them because they’re the professionals and you trust them. Charge me $10 to put my son’s training wheels back on after changing the tire and charge me another $10 on top of that for parts for the training wheels when the training wheels were already on there to begin with so they clearly lost parts to the training wheels that they took off. Didn’t bother to call to ask me if they should or call to tell me about this charge. I would’ve said no don’t do it. We could do that ourselves as we had originally. So they charge me $20 to put the training wheels on that on that we had come there with and already were on the bike. Horrible communication and would never ever...
Read moreThe best bike shop in the area hands down. The staff is experienced and ready to help everyone and anyone who walks in the door. They'll get you on the right bike and make sure that its running strong. They can order parts and get them quickly, same goes for bikes. The owner Joe, is very knowledgable not just with newer bike but with older bikes too. He always has a smile on his face and is ready to get you the right thing. His kids, Owen and Rachel, take after him and are quick on their heels just like thier father. They constantly have sales going on and the store is always being updated. A great place to go for a bike or any bike related needs. Theyre also right on the trail and have rentals, how...
