I will definitely not be returning to this range in the future as I have faced multiple negative experiences here regarding my range membership. This place is ran very dysfunctional. When I came in for the second time to use my membership with my wife who had recently turned twenty one in May as she is wanting to conceal carry in the future the gentleman working the counter had stated that my membership had expired a year ago when I had just purchased it a couple weeks prior.
This caused the range manager to come out and settle the dispute. After that ordeal we were eventually allowed to enter the range. When we had finally unpacked all of my equipment the same manager came up to us in the range and questioned if my wife was pregnant. I stated to the manager that she was in fact pregnant in which then the manager then proceeded to kick us off the range. My issue with this occurrence is more on the matter that no where on this company's website states that being pregnant is prohibited on the range.
My main discrepancy with this establishment is the very condescending conversation that I had with an associate over the phone. The conversation was not pleasant at all. I had inquired on if I could possibly bring in a doctor's note from my wife's prenatal doctor in which would allow her to shoot on the range as I used to take my wife to a rifle range back in my original home state every once in a while.
When speaking to the associate about this I was met with hostility and in which she spoke to me as if I had no regard for the safety of my unborn child. I found that to be a very hypocritical statement as this establishment seems to not care for the very defense of said woman who is carrying my unborn child.
She also stated that she has done too much research on the effects of lead to allow my wife on the range (I'm not entirely sure she was a doctor), but sure the lead may be an issue but I was once explained that it depends on the duration of exposure to the lead. She does not go to the range everyday. I would even be making a far claim that she goes once a month. Towards the end of our conversation I became extremely frustrated to ultimately ask for the refund of my membership. She asked how long I have had my membership in which I replied to her that I had only held it for a couple of weeks.
I also don't know what her intention was but she even proceeded to lie to me and tell me to specifically ask for her as she was the only one who could refund a membership. I believe her name was Julie or Joel (something along those lines). I found this out to be false because when I went to L.E.P.D following my shift I spoke with an associate at the counter that stated she had left for the day but he had told me that another associate could get me refunded.
Also when reciving my refund I was asked by the same manager who kicked me and wife off of the range if I would like a cash or card refund. That's when another associate stepped in and asked what I paid with the day I had bought my membership. I stated that I had paid with card into which the associate replied "Yeah you're not getting cash today buddy".
Definitely would not recommend, there are so many other range options. ODNR has a twenty four dollar annual shooting membership pass with...
Read moreI brought a good friend from my hometown to check out an unprecedented range experience. Once I arrived here, I was met with curious looks and strange questions from the staff. They told me that if my friend didn’t speak “fluent” English, they wouldn’t be allowed inside to shoot. For many reasons, they said that if I couldn’t translate English for him on the spot, in case I got injured, and they also didn’t have translator, so unable to…balabla
When I went to another firearm range, I wasn’t treated that way at all. I respect each owner has their own safety policy and rules. But, this isn’t the first time I’ve felt that they exhibited such behavior. 🚫 They cannot legally discriminate based on nationality, language, or origin (Civil Rights Act). 🚫 They do not have the right to demand “fluency.” Basic translation or supervision is normally acceptable. If your employee is unable to speak other forms of language, it seems not a good reason to reject a customer? Most ranges allow: • A translator or bilingual companion • Safety videos in multiple languages (some ranges have Chinese, Spanish, etc.) • Staff verbal explanation if needed
There is no official rule that guests must be fluent in English to use a firearm range. They only need to understand the safety instructions, which can be achieved through translation or assistance. If a range uses “language” as a reason to deny service without options, it raises serious fairness and discrimination concerns.
Update: Thanks, Eric, for your reply. As I mentioned, I fully respect that every range has its own rules. However, the experience can turn negative when a visitor suddenly feels they are being put through an English test.
I reviewed the range rules on your website, which state: “Due to safety concerns, individuals who do not speak English will not be allowed on the range.”
With no disrespect, if that is strictly enforced, perhaps a clear notice or sign such as “Non-English speakers prohibited” or a warning at the shop entrance would help set expectations before someone enters...
Read moreOwner aggressively approached me while I was at the cafe next to his store asked me to pick up my cigarette butt when I was finished. I had not started smoking yet owner stated that I threw a cigarette butt down earlier. I informed him that I had done that and I would collect the cigarette butt. At that time the issue was finished.
I finished my coffee and I put my cigarette butt in my pack to honor his request. Owner confronted me again saying that I have thrown my cigarette butt on the ground and when I rebutted him that I had not he had the audacity to tell me not to argue with him because he's a police officer.
First off I can argue with anybody I feel like arguing with. Especially if I have the evidence and showed the owner the burnt cigarette butt in my pack that I had collected. Owner refused to make an apology and wanted to continue arguing.
I have been a long-term customer of lepd firearms, as has my family and company. Not ends today. There will NOT be a single dollar spent on an out of control egotistical buisness owners establishment.
Edit: reply. I am sure you have the footage of me throwing the cigarette, which means you'll also have the footage of me picking it up, finding your cigarette disposal box on the wall, that looks like a mail box and disposing of it.
Second WE did not have a conversation YOU told a grown man not to argue with you as you came in and stated something that wasn't true.
See here's the issue.... I had the cigarette in question in my pack and showed you and the instructor so, using logic, did I leave it in the ground, or put it in my pack like requested? You do remember me being in physical possession of the cigarette you acused me of throwing correct? So...
