This is my hometown skatepark and I really enjoy it. As someone who is returning to skating after a 15 year hiatus, I quickly realized that the transitions and banks are pretty steep. This is definitely a fun park though. The concrete is smooth and there are only a few small spots that have cracked/chipped away after all these years of being open which goes to show how well it was build. Read moreAs a kid I was pretty good at skateboarding. I took my 2 year old just to walk through the park while no one is there. Love the setup for beginners and someone who has been skating 2-4 years. It doesn’t have anything with a huge drop in if your worried that your kid will get seriously injured. I would have your kid wear a helmet and elbow pads if they are beginners. The skateboard will always fly out underneath you when your at a park cause pavement so smooth. Yes, there is a rule that doesnt allow bikes or scooters but that should be beside the point. We have been riding for ten years, been to hundreds of different parks around the country but not once have we had to deal with trash locals like the ones you have there at petal skate park.
