El Mariachi Loco — Restaurant in Petal

The food was good and affordable at just $3.99 a meal for the value menu. The restaurant itself was clean enough as not to cause health concern but, it wasn't spotless either. The walls are decorated with humourous metal signs that made me chuckle a bit while walking around the store. The atmosphere gave it a very authentic feel. The staff is experienced friendly and they are always cooperative with substitutions. I have been to this restaurant many times and have left very happy. However, the past few times I've gone. I felt the customer service was lacking at best. which was odd considering how fantastic their customer service has been in the past. El Mariachi Loco has been in business for as long as I can remember and remains one of my Mexican restaurants but judging on the customer service that I have received and the average cleanliness I will have to give it three stars. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Food was fine but almost to hot to eat. But the worst was the"Best Margaritas in Town", my mother and I were anticipating a great drink, we've been before and really enjoyed them, so we ordered, I got the very large, mother a medium... One sip and I almost spit it out across the table. The worst margarita I've ever had, bitter aftertaste and no alcohol. Like drinking straight mixer. Mom has been around the world and drank them, and she said it was worst she'd ever had... Our waiter never commented on there fact that we were not drinking them out asked how was everything. ( Mom never make scenes or complains in public). She quietly informed the cashier when paying for our meal, and barely got an apology. Needless to say Mom has added them to her...

We planned for a group to be there and say on the patio. The fans need some work in how they are directed and they would benefit from installing some shades in the west side. The service was terrible. We sat for a long time with just our drinks, not even getting menus. We finally got menus after we asked and then sat another ten minutes or so waiting for him to take our order. Two other tables arriving after us had their orders taken and finally, we caught the server and said we were ready when he was. They sent another server over and things started to go more smoothly with him. It wasn't busy, only three tables on the patio, including us. The food was eh... not the best, but I suppose not the worst. The flies were horrible as well. Can't say...
