I’ve debated for a few months about leaving this, but with the encouragement from a few other people who work in events, I feel this is important.
We went to a show here a couple months ago. We were excited because we’d been here once before for a show a year prior and had fun.
We get to the show and six people immediately sit behind us who are belligerently drunk. They started yelling over the show the second it starts, were spilling their drinks on us, and laughing so hard they were coughing on the back of my partner’s head.
We go to the staff to tell them what was happening. Staff says “Oh well we can’t remove them nor can we refund you, but you can come stand in the aisles away from them if you like.” We ask if they are serious that that is all they can do, and they say yes.
We were shocked that the theatre had no policies for removing disruptive guests nor did they refund our $100 worth of tickets. We were incredibly polite, but we just left. We saw other people who had been sitting near us leaving as well.
I work in user experience and also have worked in events, so I’m absolutely appalled that there was basically nothing done to insure their community can hear or enjoy their events, and that their user journey for us ended with “wow, that really sucked. I guess we’ll never go there again.”
I hope they work to update these policies, maybe then...
Read moreWent to a concert here 2nd time in 2 years to see Y & T with my mom. Always a great time here. I will say that it's an older building and this year they were having problems with the stage lighting but everything else was fine. The security can be a little aggressive when going through the crowd to figure out who is causing a problem but I dont need to be karate chopped on the shoulder to be asked to move out of the way.... 🤣 for that guy maybe if u just tapped people and asked them to move instead of the chop down people would be more receptive to moving instead of getting pissed off at u for chopping them (not me but another guy behind me got really pissed he was chopped) which I can understand. I also think that it should definitely have more air flow and ventilation cuz even the skinny people were sweating like wh*res in church (don't come for me that's an expression and if thats what u do then do u yall I ain't hatin') and this show started at 8pm so it wasn't midday heat and it's indoors. 4 stars because of the lack of air, getting the chop, and...
Read moreOne of the best small venues for love music anywhere. Unfortunately, in desperate need of some renovating and updating. The old theatre seats have no cushioning left so you're forced to ensure sitting on springs. Also, apparently there's new management who are much younger, and have put some new very odd rules/policies/procedures in place, and haven't learned how to properly enforce and deal with the people who will either make or break their business. They could use some sensitivity training and common sense on when and how to BEND! (ie, when there's a sold out Benefit Show with multiple artists-that are donating their time and energy for a cause, some traveling across the country for the event-DO NOT cut off their microphones, and not let them at least thank everyone for their donations and say goodbye! Let alone, not let them perform an encore because it's 11pm, and the new management decided to install a curfew, and apparently doesn't want to pay overtime? I had been to MANY shows there prior to this newer management, that had run well...
