I am disappointed with my membership for Hand & Stone McMurray. Most recently I had worked with the staff to schedule a facial and massage. The facial went over and cut into my massage appointment by 25 minutes so I opted to not have my massage because I would not get the full 50 minutes. Even though I reminded the staff that I also had a massage scheduled, and have no concept of time during my facial because the idea is to relax, I still had to have the staff contact the manager because they wanted to take my membership credit for the month. Furthermore, I booked a massage for the following month as I often do, and it happened to be member appreciation week. I asked if I could take advantage of the previous days promotion and add essential oils to my massage for free, the request was declined because on Tuesday, the promotion was for a facial. However, when I booked the massage a month earlier there was no mention of member appreciation week, it was announced the week of my massage. Additionally, I have had multiple appointments cancelled with limited notice, I am having trouble finding a massage therapist that I like. All of the ladies I have seen have changed their schedules and do not align with my 8 am - 4 pm work schedule and they are not at the spa on weekends. Another shock to my membership is upon signing up I was told that if I ever need to pause my membership for three months, that I could. Well, when I asked to pause my membership, I was informed that the policy recently changed and they could pause my membership, but I would be charged $15 per month. For what? I am looking...
Read moreI have been having massages and facials monthly since 2005. Prior to that, I would indulge in a massage on cruises and other vacations at resorts. My daughter treated me for Mother's Day to a massage in Nemacolin, PA (featured on "The Bachelor" a couple times). I joined Massage Envy and was very pleased with their service! But the reason I am beginning my review this way, is to let you know I have a lot to compare Hand & Stone with to my past experiences. My favorite form of massage is a hot stone. I happened to recently receive a discount card in the mail for a facial and a hot stone massage at a location 5 minutes from my home. ME was 20 minutes away and unfortunately corporate are raising their prices by 25% as of March 2022. So being on a fixed income, I decided to take advantage of the Hand & Stone offer and give them a try. They were among the best treatments I have EVER had!! And in addition, the employees I encountered there were so friendly and welcoming!! They also offer rewards which is a big plus. ~ Consequently, I joined the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa and sadly discontinued my membership with ME because I will miss the wonderful employees...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. I booked a deep tissue massage and received nothing even close.
The check in process was smooth and easy. While waiting, the person who would be my massage therapist shows up to work. The front desk attempts to tell her something and she gives attitude and says âI havenât had any coffee yetâ (itâs 2:30 in the afternoon) before blowing into the back.
I get to the room and she tells me she does reflexology style massage and how her massage âis a little different.â Her eyes were barely open, and she belabored how I was her first client of the day numerous times. She said she only uses medium pressure and that was that.
I then experienced THE WORST excuse of a massage Iâve ever received. The majority of the time was spent on my jointsâwhere no muscles even exist just ligaments. She touted her âdifferentâ massage multiple times and even told me to expect wobbly legs when I got up.
There was no deep tissue. So now, Iâm here hours later with painful joints AND I still have all the knots in my muscles I went in with. It was a complete waste of my time and money.
Do yourself the favor and...
