I’m writing to explain the reason I chose to resign from my position at Cato. While I enjoyed many aspects of the job and took pride in my work, the treatment I received from management made it clear that this was no longer a healthy or respectful environment for me. I was often spoken to in a condescending and belittling manner, as if I wasn’t capable or deserving of respect. On more than one occasion, when I voiced valid concerns, I was laughed at or completely dismissed. Instead of receiving support or constructive feedback, I was told outright that I wasn’t “management material,” without any real discussion or development offered. That was not only discouraging—it was humiliating. No employee should be made to feel small for trying to grow or contribute. The culture in that environment felt less about teamwork and more about control and intimidation. I gave my best effort daily, but it’s hard to stay in a place where your voice doesn’t matter and your potential is overlooked.I hope this feedback helps leadership reflect on how important it is to foster a workplace built on respect, encouragement, and professionalism. I wish the best for the team that’s still there, and I truly hope the work culture improves for their sake. I’ve gotten more than one complaint from customers while working there about her (TAMMY) attitude and rudeness and was told no one especially an employee should have to deal with such. And I just came to my wit ends with putting up with it and allowing her to talk to me any sort of way and put all blame on just me for something that more than I as an...
Read more1st let me say that I rarely leave reviews, but I feel I can no longer be silent. The clearance clothes at Catos are an absolutely wonderful blessing. I have gone from a sz 26/28 to now a small/medium and have shopped at Catos for probably 10 years. I absolutely love their clothes. However, I will NEVER go back to the Pflugerville store because of one manager, Tammy who has been there for as long as I can remember. She is the most rude and obnoxious woman I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. She should NOT be allowed to work in customer service. Me and my BFF go in their to shop every couple of months and we both spend a LOT of $$ when we go. There have been several times that I have had to do returns and she has treated me w/ SO MUCH DISDAIN & DISRESPECT, I cannot even begin to explain how rude she is. My mom has only gone in there a few times but she had to return a pr of shoes and was treated the exact same way by Tammy. Once I heard that, I had to leave this review. She should be fired. I will ONLY shop at the store in Round Rock from now on bc they treat customers with respect and politeness. One person truly can ruin a business in my opinion and she has done this for...
Read moreI have shopped at Cato multiple times. Personally, I have never gone in and had a rude attendant. All of the staff are very sweet, the are informative and answer questions, and for this particular time: About 2 weeks ago I had gone in and found the most gorgeous pink heels I've ever seen in my life. I simply had to have them. But none were in my size. One of the employees noticed my dilemma and had suggested they order from another store that had my size and simply ship it over. Long story short, I got the best pair of heels for my pink obsession XD. My recommendation if a store isn't working out for you? Try coming in another time. Staff moves around, shift changes, and people wake up brighter. Hope this...
