Monti-Rago Funeral Home, Inc. — Attraction in Philadelphia

I've been to a lot of funerals unfortunately. With a large friend and family base there is no shortage of events we have to attend. I've seen a large population of funeral events, homes and operations. I can honestly say Monti-Rago has by far the most class and is the best run operation I've experienced. I've been to 2 events here. First off the funeral home is spotless, the decor is contemporary and it is polished. As a photographer and designer, I'm extremely detail oriented and I will tell you this funeral home is impressive. Not only is it gorgeous, it's big! I can't tell you how many places I've been where everyone was jammed into low-ceiling small rooms. Not here, everything is spacious and the family and guests are given every consideration to make them comfortable. Well lit, easy in-and-out routes, no confusion, TVs with sound all through-out the building for guests to view photo slide shows or movies the families may have prepared. They have lots of assistants providing guidance to every guest making it easy. And the deceased looked amazing both times. The makeup and clothes were superb.

Let's move to the external activities outside the funeral home. These guys know the business. Everything is choreographed beautifully to the families wishes and direction. And if you don't know what to do, they do and can provide suggestions. Everything from food, limos, cars, church, grave site, etc., is handled extremely smoothly and without concern. They know every aspect of this business and how to make it a perfect event. The family is guided gently through each step in the process gracefully and with care.

Even though Monti-Rago is out of state for us, my wife and I will use them for our funerals. I can't say enough of what a great job they did. Again, we went there twice over the course of 3 years and it was impressive both times.

Mark Rago was the funeral director when our Dad passed away. My Dad was sick for a few years and was emaciated at the time of his death. What Mark did was nothing short of a miracle. He brought Dad back three years in time when he was vibrant and handsome. The accommodations were wonderful. The funeral parlor is newly renovated, tastefully decorated, and the rest rooms were clean and neat. My Dad was 96 and an elevator was an important feature for our elderly family members and friends. Mark suggested a place to have our pictures put into a video. The video was professionally made, and the video could be seen on three cameras, which included the basement. In fact, Mark made excellent suggestions for things we did not think of.

At all times, Mark and his staff were sympathetic and accommodating. Although Dad was a stranger to them, they could not have been more respectful of him and of our feelings for our loss.

Needless to say, I would highly recommend Monti-Rago Funeral Home to anyone. In fact, I have a terminal illness and have already contracted with Mark to take care of me when God finds room at the...

I wish I could give Monti Rago way more than five stars. Words could never express the wonderful kindness, compassion, care, love, and professionalism Mark, Dominic, Jake, and Nico showed to my family during my grandmother’s passing. Not only did they take excellent care of all of the arrangements and made my grandmother look beautiful, but they really treated us all like family. They were always there for all of us and went absolutely above and beyond for anything we needed or asked for. From the moment we made the arrangements, to leaving the burial site, everything went so smoothly thanks to their hard work and excellent organizational skills. Their professionalism, gentleness, and compassionate hearts is something that can never be replicated. You really feel like family to them and they go above and beyond to assist you with anything you may need during your time of loss.
