Pleasant Playground — Attraction in Philadelphia

The pool overall isn't too bad. However, there are quite a few issues that I have and they need to be addressed by staff like ASAP.

For one, and most importantly, the hours listed for this pool online are incorrect. They list 12-5. The first hour, after learning the hard way on a very hot day, is only for camp swim. And as far as them closing at 5, umm yeah, they close at 4.

Next, the lifeguards. The public pools are going to attract all types of kids, I understand for that. But for the lifeguards to just sit there and allow them to cuss out loud when there are small kids there is not cool. It takes away from the Family-fun aspect of it. I've watched my son get disrespected a few times by some rowdy kids there and nothing was done at all. It's like they're only there to get paid for this summer job and not actually DO their job.

This pool needs a lot of revamping done to it, staff-wise, order, everything. I've been taking my son there since he was 6 and it seems to be getting worse as the years progress.

My children and I frequented this pool quite often being as though I live so close, until today that is. Very unprofessional experience, before entering a life guard saw my children walking up to the pool and yelled through the gate”WE’RE NOT OPEN, GO HOME!” Beyond rude! We arrived a few minutes early so we waited outside the gate, once they opened they told me they had a “new ratio” that was being enforced because another child at a different pool had drowned recently and they asked me if I watched the news lately, I was also told I have “TOO MANY KIDS and to go find a friend in order to come in.” Mind u I was just there last week with all 5 of my children as I had done almost every weekend prior to today no one ever mentioned a new rule or ratio. I spoke with a supervisor she said there’s no new rule and I must’ve been sneaking in unnoticed all the times prior. How is it possible to sneak in with 5 kids? I have no idea. Long story short I’m very disappointed in the treatment I received and the rudeness my children were subjected to. Do better...

We have an awesome garden that we worked with community and the rec center to secure a proper space and allow us to build our garden beds there! We were also fortunate for the neighborhood to chip in in helping us keep everything clean and maintained through each season. From the the season we've had to this current season; we have been very fortunate to a very fruitful and abundant harvest this year and we've able to feed plenty people who could definitely use it and deserve something the caliber of garden fresh or garden/farm to table. It's been a good couple of years over there at Pleasant Playground and at the Garden....
