I was concerned when one of my girlfriends said she wanted to dine here now that she has moved in the neighborhood. The Google reviews were very mixed between customer service and food quality.
My first experience with Breakfast Boutique was with their Chestnut Hill location which I had delicious food and no problems. When this location opened, monitored the reviews for this location and decided I will not spend my money here.
That changed when this was the location selected for catch up session with one my girls.
I am happy to report that customer service was good. When I walked in, there was no one there to greet me. However, in less than a minute a young lady came from the kitchen area, greeted me, asked me if i needed a table for one as I walked in alone, I said a table for two and she grabbed some menus and flatware and escorted me to a table. She then informed me the name of our waitress as I sat down.
My girlfriend arrived just a couple of minutes after me so we reviewed the menu and our waitress. We started with water and juice and then after determining what we were going to order, our server was there to take our order.
But that was the last time we saw her until we received our check. Our food and drinks were delivered to our table by someone else.
Our drinks came out quickly and there was a bit of a wait for our food (we both ordered the Boutique Sampler which included red velvet pancakes, cinnamon swirl pancakes, and the stuffed French toast and a side of bacon).
I would have loved my food to come out hot versus lukewarm but I still give them 4 stars for the good morning greeting, time it took to get a table and place an order, size of water and juice, and the portion size of my food.
I truly enjoyed the stuffed French toast. The red velvet pancakes and cinnamon swirl pancakes were fine. Nothing I would order again. The prices are reasonable as well.
Tip: residential street parking is FREE on the weekend (Same review...
Read moreMy 2nd visit to this establishment unfortunately undercut my 1st experience as the kitchen service was subpar, to say the least. I and my family arrived a little more than an hour before they were to close and were warmly greeted by a nice young lady who seated us. (We were the only patrons in the establishment for our entire dining experience.) Excited at the menu options, we put in our orders to include several items such as turkey scrapple, fried shrimp, and coffee (advertised by the establishment as “unlimited coffee”). Shortly thereafter, we’re notified individually that there’s no turkey scrapple, then minutes later, there’s no fried shrimp. When I inquired further, it was then communicated that there’s no more fried foods. Apparently, the kitchen refused to fry anymore food given that they were set to close in an hour. Just minutes later, the young lady offers us fresh refills of “unlimited coffee” only to return and let us know that there’s no more coffee. Needless to say, this was very disappointing and ruined our experience. To top it all off, we received the bill with the gratuity already included on top of a credit card processing fee.
In a nutshell, my 2nd visit will be my last. Poor kitchen service and false advertisement should not characterize any establishment, particularly those quaint “mom and pop” community storefronts that are historically known for the exact opposite. Dine here at risk of subpar service and fees forcibly embedded...
Read moreI asked my husband to take me to the restaurant as it had been some time since I had been there. The place was well manicured and clean They even took our temperature prior to seating us. The tables were 6ft apart from each other so I felt safe in being seated. This however was the most rewarding part of my experience. I ordered shrimp and grits. When I asked for a salmon cake , they told me I had to order an entire platter as opposed to an additional side item. My husband ordered shrimp and grits with a side of whiting fish. I forgot to mention we were the first party to be seated out of four parties. My husband and I waited for nearly an hour. After watching everyone recieve their food we finally asked where our food was. When we asked the waiter he promptly replied and said he would check for us. He had not initally seated us so I could understand if he wasnt aware. He returned with our food. Very disappointed! Our grits was cold. Our cheese could not melt because they were so cold. We had asked for our cornbread multiple times but did not recieve it until we were leaving. While price was not an issue, they had the audacity to charge us for cornbread that we could not eat with our meal. My husband and I were truly disappointed needless to say. If nothing else, please make sure you serve your food with the appropriate temperature. Oh and a piece of cornbead is not...
