I wanted to support local business so i decided to oder 3 mini bouquets for soph hop for my daughter and her friends via telephone here with owner Herb III. Went to pick them up and got 3 ordinary bouquets that you would find at the local supermarket. My jaws dropped and informed them that was not what I ordered and requested to see if they could please fix it for me. Lady went to the back to inform owner of this and he goes off in the back, perhaps not realizing that his voice echoes out to the front store area. I was appalled at what I heard. The attitude was a disgust. I informed them that I was more than willing to pay extra to get what I needed and that what were given to me were not acceptable and not useful for my purpose. Instead of just stating that they could fix it for an extra fee.. He tells me in a frustrated attitude to "take my flowers and go!" I took a deep breath and asked again if they could fix this mix up or not? If not I would be more than willing to go elsewhere. He finally said yes (hesitantly and after telling me that he had no idea what a soph hop or prom bouquets were?) I am sorry, if you have been a florist for 3 generations you aught to know what that is??? Confused and upset I left them to do their business to fix the bouquets. I came back and paid the extra fees and picked up my bouquets. The lady apologised for him and I was glad that she resolved the issue and the girls got their bouquets however I truly believe that Herb III should really stay away from the customer service or front desk for their business sake. As nice as the lady was and do appreciate her kind words, I will not return to...
Read moreI ordered through Proflowers for the "exquisite" tier of the Violet Caress Bouquet (the most expensive tier, picture attached). Understanding that there will be variations based on local florists, but I paid for an abundant arangmement in a tall vase, like the one picture. In addition, I was charged by Proflowers a $20 shipping/services fee. The other picture is the minimal, small, underwhelming bouquet my wife received. It barely even match the Lowest tier option ("Standard") on Proflowers website. When talking with the delivery person, who was nice, he called Herb at the store, Herb said the bouquet was commensurate with what I paid for after they accounted for delivery fees (Which I already paid for through Proflowers). I showed the delivery person my receipt to prove what i paid, and the picture of what I was expecting, he completely agreed that what I received was well below acceptable from what I paid for. Clearly, the flowers and vase received were much smaller than what I paid for. This is a poor review for both Proflowers AND Rothe. Proflowers for not holding their florists to the expectations they promote to the customer on the website, and Rothe for, what feels like, taking advantage of people that order online, by giving a less-than product than what was paid for. This feels very intentional.

Read moreI had the pleasure of working directly with Herb Rothe, the owner of the florist, and I couldn't be happier. Herb was so sweet and made picking out flowers and creating bouquets and center pieces so easy! I had no idea what I was envisioning. All I told him was: "I want lanterns, blush and slate blue flowers, some succulents in my bouquet.... Can that work?" He turned those details into a full wedding decoration. I ended up buying my own lanterns as a cost saving, and after the wedding, he loved the look so much, he bought them off of me. He created wreaths for all my center pieces and put just the tops of blush spray roses and other flowers I can't pronounce into it, creating this very delicate and simple arrangement. We put an LED pillar in each lantern to have a soft glow, and then I bought votives for each table that he placed to add to the effect. Also, one of my lanterns broke, and he turned it into the card table decoration and covered the broken side with cascading flowers, it was beautiful. He was so easy to work with, very responsive via email and phone, and gave me links to amazon and other sites to try to cut down on rental costs. I gave him barely any direction and he was able to put together such beautiful designs. At the end of the night I donated my flowers so that they could be sent to a local hospice residents to enjoy, and the non-profit was in awe of my flowers. Call him, work with him, he's great. I was so thrilled I decided to get my bouquet preserved to have...
