I haven't been to a movie theatre in AGES for the simple fact that they got so expensive. Sure there have been incredible advances in technology to increase our viewing pleasure, but the overall experience BEFORE was not worth what it cost most of the time. It was much cheaper to wait for the movie to be released on DVD or Blu-ray. I've had these gift cards for years, and I decided to take my boys and one of their friends to the movies during the school's winter break. I looked online to see what was playing, and I see Reserved Seating. Reserved Seating? What is this? Do I now have to purchase tickets online before we even get there, and do I have enough money in the bank to do this? But I have gift cards! Can we get our tickets at the theatre? Does this mean technology took over and there won't be any 'humans' working at theatres anymore? What is going on?? All I was sure of was that I was feeling pretty old! Well we took a chance and went anyway. When I purchased our tickets, from a human, I just had to select which seats we wanted. Why? I had no clue. It used to be first come first serve. What changed?? We got our popcorn and other snacks (YES! They are still at premium prices, and that's the only complaint I do have, but that is everywhere, and it's not going to change, so suck it up.). When we walked into the theatre I was shocked. At first by how few seats there were in the theatre, but when we got to our row and I actually got to look at the seats? Wow! When I read 'reclining seats' on the theatre's information section I thought it was the 'old' reclining seats, and I actually laughed when I read that. However these seats were AMAZING!!! So comfortable. So much room. They actually were 'reclining seats'. There was also so much room between the rows. No more having to put your feet up on the chair in front of you to be comfortable. No more getting kicked in the back by annoying people. Now THIS is a movie theatre worth going to!! The staff is excellent and very helpful. The seats are amazing! It was very, very clean!! I highly recommend seeing movies at this theatre. In fact we went to see another movie yesterday, and had another fabulous experience! Next time I might bring a blanket because that is the only thing that made me realize I wasn't watching this in the comfort of my own home. So comfortable. These seats along with the new technology make it worth going to the theatre to watch...
Read moreThe only thing I will say was that I was little bummed out since we were not able to see a movie in the theater for a date night that I wanted to do with my wife. Although it does say with clear signs that are visible on door and they have a greeter, asking if you have your negative covid results or vaccination card handy. But it's a must or you cannot watch the newest movies. So I tried to pull up my info through the City of Philadelphia Public Health site to get my results and to be honest it was very difficult because I was not able to find what I was looking for and they told me that I could see a movie if I found it but my girlfriend was not able to and I thought that's not fair you know that I can see something but she can't you know that's not worth it we wanted to see the new screen and that was part of date night so I just went home and ended up buying King Richard on my Amazon prime account which is a really great movie by the way. But I had to prove that I didn't have covid-19 so I can be my girlfriend's nurse yes of course I definitely provided but now that I went to pull it up I can't find it anywhere on their website and unfortunately it was late and I was trying to buy the tickets ahead of time how you used to do in person so that I can surprise her like hey babe guess what we're going to the movies tonight I got tickets you know get ready put on something beautiful you know and then I picked out the seats and everything. What I will say though about the regal is that they are very professional they have everything easily labeled on the website and it's very easy to find if you're trying to find a movie as well as purchase the tickets on there but due to the new protocols it's just rough but I would definitely give him five stars because it was so simple and the movie times listed right there you can either purchase it with your debit or credit card and then you can purchase it with other ways to pay so it was very convenient for me but I didn't have the money on my card and I didn't have one of the apps that...
Read moreI have had some bad movie theater experiences but this may be the worst ever. The staff themselves couldn’t do anything to help it. 2 young girls behind the counter and 1 guy in the front doing nothing. None of the screens were on to let anyone know what movies are playing or what times they start. There was no signs to let people know what theaters each movie is playing in nor was there anyone to direct them. The front box area was empty so you had to buy tickets at the concession stand. The concession stand line was at least a half an hour long and when I get to the front, I find out they have no pizza and no pretzels at 11 AM. The movie theater just opened on the day of a promotion which is only the second week of that promotion. Yet they were completely unprepared. The snack boxes weren’t even made. They had to make them For each order. They also had beer and liquor drinks that weren’t advertised anywhere on the screens. I don’t think i will ever come to this theater again and it is solely because regal has done such a poor job to prepare their staff and care for the customers. I was excited to bring my family to the movies but this turned into a disaster due to Regal being greedy with promotions yet only have 2 employees to run the day. I feel bad for these employees and anyone at the theater today. They also have a few attractions in the main lobby, such as a claw machine and a photo booth. They weren’t even plugged in. Nothing we could do to stall the time and wait...
